Jakey Leigh's Café Bakery

i’ve lived here for a short time and had never tried this place! they were the only place open to get coffee so we stopped by! it was absolutely delicious and as a waitress i understood how busy both women were. they were the only two working and they were trying to clean everything and serve people. i had the chai latte and it was the best chai i’ve had in a while!

Best Chai Tea Latte I've ever had. Happy and efficient staff. Also reasonable prices.

Stopped here on our way to Zion and I wish I lived closer to eat here all the time! The breakfast sandwiches on croissants were amazing!!! Everyone was so nice and the white chocolate coffee I got tasted better than any I have had before. The whole family enjoyed it! They were busy but we didn’t wait more than 10 minutes. Great place!!!

Expecting a good meal. Ordered croissant breakfast sandwiches, server brought them out and dropped one on the floor right in front of us by accident. When they remade the sandwich they brought it out on an English muffin when I said that was wrong they told me the ticket said English muffin even though that wasn’t true and he had dropped the croissant. He went back in then another lady came out and said that was the last croissant that was dropped. Told me I could have a refund if I wanted (but was going to take the sandwich back) I ate the sandwich and it was simply awful. Waste of money and time. No apology whatsoever. Coffee was lame too. Would recommend you go to a different place.

Great little coffee shop/bakery. Coffee was good, the breakfast burrito was great. Nice size and great flavor. Jakey was wonderful even after this(me) clumsy old guy sloshed his coffee on the floor. Very very local.

Stopped here twice during our stay, and both times were very happy we did! Had an iced coffee, an espresso and a croissant breakfast sandwich and it was all great. Also loved the patio seating outside.

Had a large hot latte and english muffin breakfast sandwich 😋. The wait staff were welcoming and the indoor and outdoor dining spaces pleasant. Another go back to place in Kanab. Sorry no photo to share.

Came this morning (Saturday) and they were very busy, but SO worth the wait. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the young lady who took our order and made our drinks works very well under pressure! Had a Chai tea latte and the southwest breakfast burrito and they were both REALLY GOOD!

I wanted to like this place, I really tried, but its lacking too many details to make it anything other than a 1. There are some unforgivable circumstances that won't sit right with me if I rank this higher than a 1 star. The foundation is there for a stellar establishment with the customer service the lady had taking orders and making drinks. The other lady cooking looked too stressed and in over her head, I felt bad, I'm sure she is short handed as 1 more worker could've made things run much smoother.

Pros: Customer service. The system of fulfillment and delivery to table or person waiting for to-go food. The patio, and the inside. The atmosphere was ok. Prices were fair and they had a good selection of items.

Cons: Unorganized/frazzled. Even being short handed, there are a couple things that are unfortunately unforgivable, even before focused health awareness from covid. Unwrapped straws and utensils that they hand to you with bare unwashed hands after touching money and the register. Not changing gloves after cooking food, running the plate to the customer outside, and then grabbing the door handle, coming inside and immediately making more food and touching plates.. at least change the gloves if you can't wash your hands too. Dropping a spatula on the ground, picking it up, and not changing gloves once again. I'm so glad I didn't get food being made by her. The locals didn't seem bothered as if they are used to her dropping things and building up their immune systems even stronger. It sucks, because if I'm ever back in town, I'm skipping this place, and it really does have potential.

Unfortunately there are a couple other reviews about hygiene and its why I opted for bakery items and drinks. And the 5 star reviewers seem oblivious on what is going on in the kitchen. I would advise someone from your party to stand near the bakery case to watch the food being made.. you might want a refund depending on the hygiene you witness.
