I’m a big stickler on service and I’m not going to lie, it was their worst attribute so I’ll start there. When I arrived I wasn’t seated until my friend arrived even though I had a reservation and I was on time. We were seated at a table for two and asked if we could possibly switch tables bc it was tiny and set for a date night type vibe, which wasn’t the case for us. We were denied that option because the table was reserved for a party of at least 3 and it sat 4. These wouldn’t have been problems for me if I didn’t notice other parties getting seated when their full party hadn’t arrived. One group only has 2/5 and the other 2/6 and each were allowed to be seated before their complete party arrived. Another group of 4 ladies were also allowed to switch tables even though their party didn’t fill up the whole table. Not sure what that was about, but it was upsetting to see and feel ignored and overlooked. On top of no waiter even recognizing our presence for a good 10/15 mins.

But on to the positive note because I will say their ambiance and aesthetic made me look past the horrible service I received when I arrived. There was a live saxophonist and singer and they were both amazing as you can see!!
I ordered the Rose Gold to drink and there was definitely more juice than champagne. It kind of made my stomach hurt and the boudin balls for my appetizer which was mostly rice. I wasn’t too impressed by these items.
I also ordered the calamari and it was amazing! Whatever they fry their food in was really good and I loved it!
For my entree, I ordered the Pasta Monica and it was delish! I was so full from my apps I couldn’t finish, but it tasted just as good the second day.
If I were to come back I would try to choose a day with lighter foot traffic and skip straight to the entree. All in all it was a great experience and would recommend y’all to try at least once!

Worst food I have ever had. Please don't go to this so called restaurant. The server was good but, the food was overpriced and horrible. The chicken lollypops consisted of two chicken legs cooked to death with some weird BBQ sauce. The fried red snapper was cooked to death and tasted like they found it washed up on the shore in Galveston. It was dry and tasted like dead fish. I was unable to eat it. I have never wrote a review about a restaurant before but, couldn't in good conscience let someone else suffer though a meal like the one we had to suffer. Just so you know this horrible meal set me back $188.00. Never again.

New Year's event was mediocre at best. Service was terrible for the event if you could call it that. Food was okay, but supply ran out several times. No waitstaff at all. Paid $400 for four people vip but got a two person table. Only one DJ when two were advertised. Really a bad experience. Would like a refund.

The service at the Roof Sugarland is horrendous. My daughter and I waited 2 hours to receive our meal last night (March 30, 2023). We were not checked on by the waiter for extended periods. There are no free refills on soda, they do not serve iced tea (in a city that is located in the southern U.S). Finally, we were charged a 20% gratuity. They comped nothing for our wait or the horrific service. Please run form this establishment.

The food was delicious and the staff was polite. The atmosphere was laid back and comfortable. DJ playing great music. Scenery was sexy. But only 3 stars because my husband's steak was rare, when It was suppose to be medium well. The waitress took the plate back to the kitchen while the rest of us continued to eat. When she returned with another steak. It too was rare but this time visibly bleeding. The lighting was dark and the only way of seeing this was with the flash from the camera. She apologized and removed it from our bill but that still left my husband hungry. The seating limit is 2 hours so we left to catch a near by restaurant to feed my husband. Definitely will give them another try with Hope's of a better outcome..... the shrimp crab and grits were delicious. According to my other guest their food was amazing as well. (Didn't post bleeding steak pic)

I must say that I really enjoyed my visit to this establishment. I had a reservation for 6 at 7 on February 24, to celebrate my 45th Birthday that was on February 22. Upon arrival, the rest of my guest wasn't there and the gentleman at the front door allowed me and my wife to be seated inside until the others arrived, which wasn't long at all. After being seated we were greated by our waiter that took our drink and appetizers order. Being that this was our first and definitely not our last visit, we were surprised to find out that the restaurant is New Orleans based and we all are from New Orleans. Overall, we had a great time. Food and Drinks were on point, and the vibe and music was great. Sorry I don't remember names but they know who they are. 👍🏾👍🏾 Keep Up The Excellent Work.

This was a nice pick for sunday brunch. The DJ was on point the seating is comfortable. I saw a bar but there was no seating there. I recommend making a reservation. Below we have shrimp and grits, lamb chops and eggs, and the crab cake eggs benedict. Everyone at the table loved their food. The crab cake was my dish. I wish my egg was a little more runny when I cut into the top sauce was flavorsome it made the biscuits really come to life. The grits were cooked to perfetion as was the shrimp. Overall a little pricey for brunch but they excell at producing the few menu items offered. Go for bottomless Mimosa for 18 dollars, thats the wins because 2 cost the same price. Its too hot to not have umbrellas and fans outside on the deck so we will revisit in the winter when its more pleasant.

Horrible Horrible , the food was absolutely terrible and salty . All the seafood was straight out the lake. My mom was also allergic to mushrooms annd it was bought to the table on her plate. Everyone was so all over the place and unprofessional. Manager was nowhere to be found and we wasted 3 hours at this establishment and was hungry with headaches. But if you want a good drink then the bar is good but that’s about it. Staff also bad attitudes and didn’t even care that everything was horrible

It's an alright place. We considered having our wedding reception here but after dining, our mood changed. The Ribeye steaks are strangely grey, tough, way underseasoned. Mashed potatoes and asparagus were also underseasoned; the vegetables cooked outside but still raw in the middle. If you intend to have a party outside on the roof you may have to yell over the several HVAC fans underneath you. There was no soap in the women's bathroom, only 4 empty soap dispensers and bottles. Despite all of this the prices are VERY high. They wanted to charge every guest refill as a new drink on top of dishes averaging $42 and made no accommodations for us despite how much we were going to spend on the food and reservation of the venue. I think the best reason to visit The Roof would be just for the bar and nothing else.
