Great food & Great service. Mashed potatoes & fries were a little cool for my taste but still had a great flavor. Katie kept are drinks filled was informative on the menu & gave good recommendations. If in the area would definitely eat here again. Love to support local mom & pop shops.

Absolutely hands down the best diner in Stephenville and the surrounding area! We drive from Eastland to eat here! It's like walking into a time machine and very nostalgic. The waitresses have been there for years and are very friendly. The food is always great and the chicken fried steak is the best, wayyyy better than Mary's in Strawn! Monday nights you can get a decent size chicken fry, salad and potatoe of your choice for $7.95!!! That price is unheard of anymore. Ask to see the owner Kerry! She is down to earth and beams with pride when she speaks of the restaurant and her parents! Then you have the homemade pies...any kind you can dream of with meringue a mile high! Hands down this place is a Texas legend!

Stopped in about 2:30 in the afternoon on Friday 6/28/19. Heard this place had the 2nd best chicken fried steak in TX. First off the price of this dish is $18.95 which includes 2 chicken fried steaks, choice of vegetable and a side salad. Salad was chopped lettuce and about 6 small diced tomatoes on top. No mashed potatoes offered at all. So opted for the waffle fries. My first bite I could taste the uncooked flour either in the gravy or the steak itself. It was very bland and had no crunch to it at all. Waffle fries did not have any snap to them either. I tried 3 bites and gave up. They offered me a redo on the chicken fried steaks by a different cook. The tea and the salad were not great either. So I decided to decline. They did however comp me my meal minus the tea but I was really looking for a great lunch.

Loved the chicken fried steak and waffle fries! The breading wasn’t heavy on the chicken fried steak, and the waffle fries were light and had a good flavor. The pancake was incredible, you could taste cinnamon. One of the best ones I’ve come across! No homemade desserts bc the baker retired but worth a stop.

Old school dinner w old school prices and fun loving wieghtstaff. If you don't get full of great down home cooking, well you know who's fault it is!

We have been staying with friends the past week and I love trying new places. And this definitely made me feel at home. Great food and service! My boyfriend had the famous chicken fried steak and he ended up bringing one of them home. He loved it! Definitely going to go back and enjoy more on the menu and try out the pies. Best meal I have ever had while being out. I also love the fact that it's nothing but cash or check.

The cheeseburger and my mother's meal was amazing. The server we had named Sherry did an amazing job. The cook and the other servers had some issues. The cook did not cook some things all the way and in a timely manner. The other servers were arguing and not just a little bit. It was loud.

A small town café where the food is stellar, the people are amazing and the prices cannot be beat. We sat down for a meal and ended up making not one, but two new friends as the regulars came over and made friendly conversation. If you are in Stephenville and don’t eat here, you are missing out. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I got a chicken fried steak, waffle fries, and a side salad and wasn't disappointed. The homemade pecan pie was also really good and had a lot of pecans. The whole meal was homemade including the ranch dressing. They don't have a lot of seasoning to their food, but they have salt and pepper at the table so you can season it to your taste. We had great wait staff who kept mine and my parents drinks filled.

The reason why I knocked it down a star is because the rest of their food isn't good. I suggest if you are going to eat here, stick with the chicken fried steak and dessert.
