Amazing food! I’m vegetarian so we got the vegetarian omakase. It was good to try out different things but I think it’s better to just order rolls/apps directly since the other dishes they included in the omakase (souls, salads..etc) weren’t that good and not what they are known for.
Fried milk is a MUST.

This place is really good, I’m not sure if it lived up to the hype because I was left wanting for more. Reservations are recommended, you are likely to get reservations the same day. One of the hostesses was a little snippy about all that which I didn’t get because I could’ve just made a reservation right then and there and be fine. They have a vegetarian menu!!!! The whole reason why i wanted to come. I could eat and not be worried what’s meat and what’s not. They have a vegetarian omakase too. So definitely come for happy hour cause this place is surely pricey. I started off with the strawberry spritz. It was a nice refreshing drink.
Food items:
Nasu nigiri 5/5 soooooo good, eggplant was crispy
Pitchfork 5/5 was not expecting the spice also really good
Brussel sprouts 5/5 delicious, crispy and seasoned really well
Service: food took a while but our waitress was nice
Parking: complimentary valet on grant street

$141 per person for omakase, 13 courses. Some of the best and unique food we've ever had. Foie gras was the pinnacle of the meal, but even the simple nigiri was elevated to another level.

I have an amazing meal every time I come here :)
If you don’t have a reservation, you can still have dinner at the bar. Parking is valet in the back. Their happy hour at 5pm is amazing, best time to eat here for sure.

I had the best experience her at Uchi. The service was top notch. The food was delicious.
Before I came here, my stance was I don’t like raw fish. I’ve even eaten sushi and at Sushi Kashiba in Seattle and not enjoyed it. I came expecting to taste and let my friends have the rest while I concentrated on the hot menu. I ended up fighting for my fair share of just about every single dish that we ordered!
Additionally Nora was an amazing waitress. She asked if we had any food dislikes or allergies. I don’t eat cilantro or wasabi. There was no mocking or eye rolling. Her attention to detail was incredible. Any order that included those items - my portion was included without it! Also .. even though we ordered dessert, i requested an additional order of foie gunkan to finish my meal. She made sure it was served after dessert so it would still be hot!
Onto the food. We ordered both off the Happy Hour menu and the main menu. My favorites included Hirami Usuzukuri, broccoli katsu, Sakura pork belly, Hama chili, spicy crunchy tuna, waygu hot rock, and the walu walu. My least favorite was the scallop, but that was just me. The rest of my party enjoyed it just fine. The fried milk is a must eat imho, I loved the fried milk pieces. But we also enjoyed the candy bars and the coconut tapioca. The coconut tapioca was delightfully fluffy with the crunch of hazelnut underneath and a little bit of lychee sorbet on top!

Such a fantastic experience! We did the six course tasting and our sushi chef, Andrew, catered the menu to our preferences throughout. Even the edamame we ordered was delicious and unique.

This sushi restaurant is hands down one of the best in Houston. We went with the chefs menu and it was perfect. Andrew took care of us at the sushi bar and killed it. Highly recommended.

Uchi sushi was a fantastic experience for me. Excellent service was provided. I can't wait to go back because the food was so excellent.
Along with the brussels sprouts, my friend and I sampled the spicy tuna roll, the yellowtail roll, and the hamachi crudo. All of the aforementioned were excellent and had a ton of flavor.

Had a good time. Tried the omakasen. Roughly around $60 for two. Had a few beers good vibes but bartender and servers weren’t that great.

One of the best Houston has to offer for sushi. Great concepts, delicious food, amazing atmosphere. Didn’t take enough pics, because I was so focused on the food.
