Best sushi. Very loud. Great for people watching but it is very very loud even on a Tuesday although the place was packed so maybe people like crowded loud places. Get a reservation or you're going to have to wait! Food was top notch.

Food and service was on point! Our waiter, Boothe, was awesome. The spicy tuna roll was great, loved that they used fresh jalapeños instead of a spicy sauce. The wagyu kushiyaki was perfectly seared. Bass tempura melts in your mouth. So yumm. All of these are on the happy hour menu at a discounted price 4-6pm.

The star of the show was definitely the Fried Milk dessert. You have to go try it asap.

We had the omakasi and it did not disappoint. They started you off with some things you may have experienced before and then hit you with flavors to tease your palate.
For me the 3 tiered tuna was my favorite.

Kai at the sushi bar was excellent and a great conversationalist too. I did not want to distract at first as the meticulous art of sushi does take a lot of focus, but he was very easy going. Even with just happy hour selections, the order he presented was simply perfect. Having the tempura at the end allowed the palate to enjoy the raw, less saucy servings. The Walu (escolar) with ponzu was simply sublime.

I also enjoyed watching the crew's working like a finely tuned machine. Having worked sushi chef at in Buckhead, Atlanta eons ago, I'm aware of the meticulous prep and work pace required when patrons are coming in non-stop.

Beyond the taste and presentation, however, the one thing I was thoroughly impressed with was the service. I had Dusty (sp?) as the server. She and her peers were very quick and professional. The space was tight and I was concerned it was not enough for the the various servings, but within seconds of finishing a dish, the servers quickly took care of it. Any tiny drops of sauce have no chance of staining your napkin, let alone your shirt. They wiped it away in no time.

Definitely the place to go for omakase.

As always a great place to enjoy fun and creative dishes via omakase. Pretty much the same as the one in Austin. So glad they opened up in Houston. Also, get sushi bar seating if it’s you and another. The chefs are always fun.

My wife and I just had our anniversary dinner at Uchi and the food far exceeded our expectations. Every dish we had was amazing, literally every single dish we had was so good. Service was excellent and so informative. By far, some of the best food we have ever had, the food quality was off the charts and portions were decent. I would highly recommend.

We went for happy hour and end up getting alot of extras. Our waitress was very friendly and had alot of great recommendations. It is busy and very loud when we went, but the ambiance and service makes up for it.

Always a good night out at Uchi. I’ve been coming here since the soft opening. I took a couple years off but recently came back for a night out with girlfriends. They switched some of the items up and added some more really great dishes. First of all, Sohan is the BEST waiter ever. You can’t go wrong with any of the cocktails!!! The Uchi salad was an improvement from last time I visited. Loved it. The eggplant and Walu-walu are staples and amazing. My favorite is the machi cure and Hama chili. The only think I didn’t care for was the fried rice dish. It was just okay.
And if you visit Uchi…you MUST order the fried milk for dessert. This will probably always be one of my favorite restaurants when I want to treat myself or someone I love.

Great service, everything was delicious and the staff made great recommendations! I do recommend making a reservation and getting there between 4-6pm so you can benefit from the happy hour menu. There is complementary 3h valet parking as well.
