Love Local and Merit!!! So happy that you guys are here, been missing this atmosphere and care in coffee, the pastries from Bakery Lorraine are just as wonderful as they would be in San Antonio. Love the shop and the friendly staff. Anyone questioning with to get here any kind of coffee and the earl grey macarons are to die for!!!

Best coffee spot in town. Staff is always warm and welcoming, aesthetic is quaint, and the setup offers a wide range of options (food included). Dog friendly, great music, helpful staff (when recommendations are needed). Patio is also great for larger groups, second to none.

Great latte! Nice seating options inside and at the courtyard outside.

Amazing coffee and usually exceptional service, however our last visit proved different. The barista was rude and incredibly short with us. I brought my family to this location to catch up over a cup of coffee and from the first interaction the barista was short with my mother over a simple question about the new subscription service. Next we asked for all our drinks for here and the barista ignored our request and gave us paper cups. We came to this location because we were looking forward to sitting out on the patio and enjoy the later operating hours til 8p. The barista rudely informed us as we sat at a patio table that they were closing down the patio (which was filled with customers) and it was time to leave at 7:30pm, cutting our time short. She proceeded to stand there and stare until we picked up our drinks and left. If your shop is open till 8pm then your shop, including the patio area, should be open until 8pm. I hope for more pleasant experience next time.

I’m not sure where others are comparing Merit Coffee to, but I’ll gently suggest that they may not have great taste in coffee. Merit’s roast is most often burnt, and leaves a lot to be desired on its flavor profile.
They’re also quite expensive for Austin, but that seems to be the way of things in the Seaholm District. They definitely get two stars just for ambience and staff friendliness, but Juan Pelota Cafe two blocks away has significantly better coffee, for what it’s worth.

My go to matcha latte spot. They are friendly, welcoming, and my drink is consistently well made with care. They use high quality ingredients and you can tell with the matcha especially.

Being able to find craft coffee and house brewed chai away from CA nestled in a hip location just off downtown Austin was a pleasant surprise. Since coffee is on my NO list for health reasons, the house chai was a complete surprise. Wonderful flavor and taste I've never had. Its now in my top three best chai lattes I've had the privilege to enjoy. Cheers!

Yo this coffee shop is so rad.Their roasts are amazingly flavorful, they have the dopest groupheads i've ever seen espresso pulled thru, killer poor-overs & specialty teas. They also server really sweet treats like a homemade pop tart & something delicious called hippie bars.
