free ice water and 5 cents coffee... sounds fake but it's true at this time...
It would be hard to miss Wall Drug while in South Dakota near Mt. Rushmore because there is literally a sign every mile (or maybe more) along I-90. Wall Drug is pretty much the ultimate kitsch destination in all of South Dakota, or possibly the entire country.
It’s certainly a drug store, but it’s much more than that these days: it’s a restaurant, a coffee shop, a souvenir store, a museum, an art gallery, a church, a bookstore, and a playground. But before it was all of these things, it was a drug store. And it was a drug store with a problem.
Wall town, a population of 900, but no of visitor: south of 15000.
Wall, South Dakota is located just beyond Badlands National Park, making it a great launch point or a fun stop for snacks and ice water after a day of driving and hiking. It’s conveniently located just off I-90.

Good place if you enjoy touristy shops that are overpriced. However the donut shop was closed, the mining was closed, several things were closed. We specifically came to pick up some donuts but couldn’t because the walk up window was closed. We had our dog so we couldn’t go to the cafe to get them. The line for ice cream was extremely long so we just left. Total bust for us 👎🏼

Great for the experience. There is a very good gluten free bun. The homemade ice cream at the soda shop is fantastic. Please note that the eating areas close at 7pm!!

After seeing tons of adverts on the I90 interstate, we decided to give this place a try! Man were we surprised! After a long journey in the desert lands we were shocked at the scale of Wall Drug! It was a tourist paradise! Rmb to get the brochure on the history of how wall drug began! It definitely beat any stopover we had in the states!

Finally stopped here after seeing their highway advertisements for some 2-300 miles in both directions. Lol. Cute little tourist spot. All sorts of souvenirs and other little shops. There's also a cafe that has a pretty fantastic giant pecan roll.. so tasty! It was nice little stop to get out of the car, walk around a bit, and get that yummy pecan roll.

Really upgraded from the 1960's Wall Drug. They divided the property into smaller shops to lease out for all things tourist. Very well kept and they have all the old time displays. Including the cowboy band.
Wall Drug is a staple of Black Hills tour. You should stop at least for a few minutes.
Get a donut with free coffee.

I had to make a stop at the famous Wall Drug! It lives up to the hype! Tons of souvenirs to choose from. I hear the donuts are good, but I didn't get them. Plenty of parking all around, even for large or lifted trucks. Plenty of restaurants to eat at around the area too. Kid friendly. Family friendly.

If you have driven on I-90 then it is really hard to miss this place. It started with the first billboard and the name just got stuck in my head, wondering what it was. Then I started seeing billboards every 1 mile and had to google it. The advertising really works and the place is worth the stop. The 5 cent coffee is real and the donuts are fresh and delicious. Their staff is really pleasant and there are tons of things to shop for

This was a one of our stops on the 11,000 mile trip we took. We saw 26 states and both oceans and it was a blast. The laid back pace at Wall drug was a welcomed change and and a great place to pick up a bunch of souviners and take in a good lunch

I regret not keeping count on how many signs for Wall Drug we passed while driving down I-90 because they were all very amusing and definitely will convince you to go even if you didn't plan on stopping by. The Backyard wasn't open when we went in February but there is still a ton to see in the original building. As far as the food, there is a good variety that can feed everyone. The veggie burger was delicious! We tried each donut flavor and chocolate was the best. Vanilla was too artificial vanilla tasting and maple was ok. I'd budget 2 hours to explore and eat if you were planning on stopping by.
