Very cool atmosphere with a helpful owner. Definitely has the best milkshakes I have had in some time. Many different flavors to choose from at an affordable price. Gets busy later in the day but it is worth it!

SUPERB!! This place is among the best in the State of South Dakota! Tyke Mohr is an outstanding businessman and truly loves what he does! My teens always feel so welcomed here and the menu is ALWAYS EXCELLENT! Well worth a visit, as the prices are incredibly low!
Tyke is a VERY respected businessman and an incredibly kind and caring person. Please support local small businesses. The Java Joint also delivers or provides curbside service during these COVID times.

Really cool and cozy spot! Feels like my buddy's basement where I grew up having high school parties. Definitely has that vibe of the 90s era I grew up in. The s'more milk shake was phenomenal paired with the homemade mac and cheese with chicken was fire! Sublime playing on the radio was the icing on the cake. Will be coming back every time I'm in lead/deadwood!!!

Grabbed a couple coffees to go and really enjoyed the eclectic, mismatch furniture vibe with endless visual interest. Remincent of college smoke shop. Games, books, and items for sale inside. Lots of varied seating. Affordable price, 3$ per drink we ordered, friendly barista. Had to wait a little for our order and the mocha was weak in flavor, but would return to try something else. Plenty of options.

Amazing place with amazing food and drinks and amazing staff. Walking in feels like you're walking into a friends house and it's so relaxing. The art and decor on the walls are definitely a huge reason to visit. 10/10 will visit again

Whenever I visit South Dakota, I make it a point to visit Java Joint. It's a fun and funky little place with the best milkshakes ever, almost any flavor you might desire, and great coffee too. Last time I was there, a gentleman and his guitar provided live music. Next time I intend to try the macaroni and cheese, but in the meantime, try one of Tyk's spectacular ice cream sundae creations! I'll bet he'd make one to order, just for you!

Coming through from Hazen ND, probably the coolest joint we’ve been to in a long time.
Feels homey to me.
And the shakes were delicious!

Java Joint is an excellent place. Family fare foods and drinks great ambiance and fun environment. However an ex gruntled former employee and friends have been making false reviews to destroy the owner's great reputation

Hands down the best place around... Coffee is awesome with so many choices. The food is great, prices are very good and by far the people here are the friendliest you will find. Tyke and his staff have truly outdone themselves!

Went in to grab a quick frappe for my friend's daughter, saw a unique atmosphere, Tyke had stories for every game, every eclectic piece of decor, and the best part was seeing young people congregate for wholesome board game fun and conversation.

How does it get better than that? It doesn't.
