Java Joint & Milkshake Parlor

I recently came into this place and ordered a cookie dough milkshake... it was a poor excuse for a milkshake. It took forever to make??? Probably the faulty blenders and the man wearing a bandana that looks like a druggie??? Beats me but obviously they will not be getting famous for their milkshakes. Although the girls making it were very kind, they seemed scared of what would happen if they mess up. This environment seems unclean. I do not recommend coming here. It just feels dirty and unsanitary.The lighting isn’t very bright, probably because when it’s darker it’s easier to hide the dirt everywhere. It’s the thought that counts though... I hope whomever owns this facility takes my thoughts into consideration, also outside seating is an idea you may want to consider. The outdoors seems a little more sanitary! Pretty sure no fruit flies will be flying around out there, they are more interested on the good stuff inside!

To quote my mom of 94 years of age Java Joint makes the best sundaes and milkshakes she has had in years. She would know as the second time I was in there I asked Tyke if he would make her a sundae like she used have when she was young. He asked how to make it and said not a problem. I brought it home and she loved it and ate every bit. She even gave it a name it is Chocolate Cherry delight.
We also appreciate the curb service as it is hard for mom to get up the sidewalk. Now that there is COVID around that makes it good also. We have not taken advantage of the delivery service as yet but would not hesitate to do so. Tyke puts his heart and soul into making sure your experience at Java great.

The best place ever. Wonderful service! The owner was wonderful, food was amazing and my kids loved the milk shakes. I stopped in visiting from Oregon and will defiantly make it back there when I come back. If only this owner and business were in Oregon life would be good. I give it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!!!

Cool hang out! Awesome food! Best comfort food around! Games to play, a place to come play music, or just sit and listen instead! Ty is the nicest guy and has created a great place for kids... of ALL ages...to come hang out and have a good, clean, fun time! Those of you who remember... it's a modern day Carr's Pizza hangout! Tyke, you have an absolutely amazing place. U have went over and beyond, for folks around here. You have gave my kids a safe an fun place, with very yummy 😋 treats and amazing food. (loaded chilli an mac and cheese is to die for) to hang out with friends and just to get out of the house. Awesome place, Awesome food, Awesome Owner.

My husband and I came across this coffee house by accident on a drive in the area. What a great surprise! Our stay in this area was 6 days and we really couldn't find decent coffee...Starbucks is not it for us. Java Joint is unique and locally owned so another plus for us. In speaking with the owner and his father I learned some cool places to see and a bit of their family history. Such a warm and friendly atmosphere. We went back a few days later and I learned that the gentleman who owns this cool place blends his unique flavors of coffee. I'm sorry I didn't get the names of the owner or his dad, but they were super. Java Joint is the place to go for fresh, flavorful coffee and friendly people to chat with.

Excellent place with a great vibe. Convenient when in Lead, South Dakota for coffee, dessert, or a quick snack such as nachos! Tyke is a great guy with a great business. Tons of flavors and options to choose from, plus a nice spot to grab a free book and relax. Highly recommended! Open all day most days!

This is the main place I will miss in the Black Hills. Tyke is the friendliest person...always in a great mood! The food is simply awesome! Tyke is always making something fun, with pride!!! He also offers a safe space for young people...that's aces in my book!

This place does have the best shakes I’ve ever had. My boyfriend agrees 100% and we get there every chance that we can. And their food is amazing and the prices are incredible and if you haven’t been to Java Joint you are missing out!!! Best ice cream place I’ve ever been. Best comfort food place that you can fine.

This is a wonderful place where everyone feels welcome from the youngest to the oldest. The food is great and the atmosphere is even better. Tyke, owner, is a good hard working man, not only for his business but for the entire community. I highly recommend Java Joint.
