Redhawk Coffee

The best espresso and filter coffee in Oakland, and reasonable prices as well! Braden is always happy to make a recommendation or just talk shop making Red Hawk an extremely pleasant place to stop for a drink and a pastry from La Gourmandine. There's little seating so you won't find a lot of people making this shop their office, but it's a nice place to sit and watch Oakland from while enjoying your aeropress, espresso drink or batch brewed coffee.

Whether it be any of the espresso options, or just a regular cup of coffee, or even the pastry/bagel items, this place is always the perfect, bright start to the morning. Great coffee! Better service!

Man, I really like this place. It seems to have the best crowd of people and dogs, and the coffee is really good (even their decaf is delicious!) Oh, I should probably note that I am a coffee snob, and I like coffee that is distinctive, rather than friendly.

I visited this place twice. I remember I asked the Australian barista for a flat white and he was so shocked that someone in the states asking for a flat white. Very friendly staff and I really enjoyed the atmosphere.

Every cup of coffee I've had is top notch. Not a lot of seating, so it's risky if you're hoping to stay awhile, but worth the trip!

Excellent spot. Dylan is an A+ barista who knows his craft and takes care of his customers. Atmosphere is low key but lively, and the coffee is excellent.

They didn't believe in wasting coffee. Neither did I. It was too good to throw down the drain. Being that this was the consensus I now use this method to identify the quality of many things in life. Like my hopes and aspirations. But really. They have some if the best coffee and service around. It made even me smile.

I think this place is very cute and hipsterish. The staff were very friendly and were able to answer all of my questions about coffee. On the other hand it was hard to find the trash and dirty dish bin because it was in the corner with no signs.

Had a cortado it was great. The barista was very friendly as well. Great little spot.
