0 STARS... Save your money and go somewhere else!

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. We ate here before Covid and had cocktails, which were good. The food was good, not great but good enough that we would return again. Tonight we went there I ordered a lemon drop (which I've ordered before) and a long Island ice tea for drinks and the cheeseburger and phó tacos. Our drinks were tiny and both made incorrectly and were barely drinkable. My lemon drop was made with so much triple sec that I could barely drink it....I doubt they put vodka in it. My husband's long Island was clearly not made with a shot of each alcohol and did not taste like a long Island ice tea. The drinks were tiny, but yet we paid the same price for full sized drinks in an upscale bar/restaurant.

The tacos, my husband literally took one bite and couldn't stomach anymore. He had a side of Caesar salad which was so over salted that he couldn't eat more than two bites and made him cough because of the salt. My cheeseburger was severely overcooked and while it had seasoning, it left it weird after taste in my mouth....I only took one bite and couldn't eat anymore.

The service was subpar, when I asked for a modification during ordering the server said to me "I don't know if we can....." and left it at that, never offered to go ask or put it on the order and see if the kitchen could accommodate. When he came by to ask how the food was and my husband asked for the check, he simply said "okay" but even after looking at our uneaten food didn't ask what was wrong. Nor did they ask or really seem to care when we got up and husband told them what was wrong. While they credited our food when we got up to pay, the service was overall dismal, the food was horrible and the drinks were better suited for the gutter.

Save your money, don't go here! We ended up at better restaurant where the staff actually seem to care and the food was 1000 times better.

Great spot! Quality food, friendly staff.

Amazing atmosphere, Awesome drinks, Pretty good food, Mid service & Some of the worst sauces I’ve ever had. Whoever made the ranch must’ve had the methodology of a kid making potions with their parents soaps. It looked like what you’d expect to come out of a very sickly man after a night of love making and tasted much worse. The people want ranch, not water with an essence of dill.

Intentional Travelers

When Archive first opened I remember thinking: Salem has come a long way since I grew up here! It has become one of our favorite spots to hang out, grab a coffee (scone, drinking chocolate, etc.), and/or do some work online when we're in town.

The atmosphere is great. I haven't been there when it turns into a bar, but I like the concept. Definitely glad to have Archive in downtown and highly recommend it!

P.S. For more of our favorite places in Salem, do a web search for "Intentional Travelers Salem" to find our blog posts!

Extremely rude.

Went there on Halloween for after dinner cocktails while dressed as a viking-- there were plenty of other costumes. They let us in without comment and sat us at the bar. I went to wash my hands in the washroom, and then came back and sat down until the bartender came over. We asked him for a moscow mule and a gimlet and he said he was uncomfortable serving us and wanted us to leave. I 100% thought he was joking, but he was serious. We asked for an explanation and he said it was on him, and he was uncomfortable serving us alcohol, and if we didn't leave he would call the cops. I had one drink with a delightful rabbit confit at a restaurant around the corner prior to this. Surreal.

Nothing like this has ever happened to me, so I didn't know what to say other than to leave. Horrible first experience visiting Salem.

A great cup of coffee but with a twist. It was a cold brew with lemon and oh did it beat my expectations. The closest comparison would be a summer shandy beer. A bit different of a place if you're just looking for coffee later in the day. The barista told me the turn off the espresso machine around 3pm to get ready for the dinner crowd. I'm kind of glad it was off so I could try the lemon coffee I had.

The espresso French toast was amazing beyond words and the warm and toasty coffee was sooo good

The seating "encourages" shorter visits, but the food, drink, service, and location are all top notch. Big fan.

My favorite coffee shop in all of Oregon. Everything about it... The coffee (roasted in the basement), the decor, the attention to every detail, the food, the staff, the clientele. This place is a must visit in Salem! And a huge liquor selection with lots of hard to find whiskeys, tequilas, mescals, brandies, etc.
