One of the few places that I can get a cup of coffee the way I like it. Strong and dark roast. Thank you , Café Marino!

Love this spot! I moved to the neighborhood a year ago and quickly made this my go-to for coffee, a tasty snack and a place to work. The staff is fantastic, especially the owner and his two daughters, Ina and Iris. In fact, Ina helped me out big time a couple of months ago when I got locked out of my building! The owner is often around, always with a big smile and a greeting. I love the quiet, chill atmosphere, and it's nice to have the option to sit outside and enjoy a beautiful day or evening. I highly recommend this neighborhood gem.

Definitely "not an ordinary place"! I can't believe how relaxing and inviting the atmosphere is here!! I felt absolutely spoiled by the barista, especially after explaining it was my very first visit to Marino. She walked me through everything in the cafe and was positively upbeat with every part she described - no matter how small the detail may seem. She even managed to get me to try something new (which is very difficult for someone like me with a plain pallet), and I absolutely LOVED it! Words cannot fully describe my love for this place, I can't wait to come back! If you find yourself in the area, stop on in - you will NEVER be disappointed!! 😍💞

Dario, the owner, runs a spectacular place! The staff are very friendly and attentive. Great selection of coffee, desserts and excellent sandwiches and soft drinks. The vibe, the art and decor are earthy, comfy cozy and kind of bohemian. And inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay a long time! Sorry I didn't think to take pictures. I will add some after my next visit.

First off, their drinks are great. My coconut hot chocolate was amazing. Marino's is one of the few places around where you can perform as a musician. I would say that they tend to have more acoustic guitar singer/songwriter type of performances, but honestly I haven't been to very many shows there. I just like that Marino's opens itself up as a place for performers (musicians/guitar players) to play at. There are guitars hanging on the wall, they have a simple P.A. (microphone and speakers) which kind of looks like a home stereo that has been modified to allow for a mic to go through, but it totally works and the sound is great. The place isn't huge, but if you are just starting off as a singer/songwriter, this would be a great place to consider performing at. Will the coffee shop pay you for performing? Probably not, but you could always sell your CDs and stickers on a side table. The booking process for me was very easy, and the performance was casual and included not only my friends and the other musicians, but some other people who just happened to be there too. I haven't been playing out very much lately, but I would most definitely consider returning to Marino's for not only a good cup of hot chocolate but also as a musician.

Love this place! Best Turkish coffee in Portland and awesome mom and pop feel. It's even walking distance to my fave second hand shop. They serve a few veggie options; paninis and bagels. Always dessert treat options and if that wasn't enough, my pastry came warm and toasted. Got to meet the owner who's there quite often, awesome! Sometimes they have evening belly dancing. His wife's scarf dance was like a beautiful story that makes you feel like family. We have turkish coffee here almost every other Saturday.
