devastated only begins to describe my disappointment. i don’t understand the motivation to turn such a gem of a unique space into a homogenous blob of banality. i am very sad.

Loved this small cozy place. Would have loved to spend hours here, but was short on time. Loved this place, would love to go back again!

We love coming here!! I’ve never had a bad drink or pastry. Really good coffee! I do think the staff could be a little more friendly 😬

This was a quintessential misty Portland afternoon and I was searching for an equally quintessential Portland coffeeshop experience.
Well, not really.
I was actually on a deadline, hungry, in need of a decent coffee, and, well, just wasn't feeling Starbucks, so when I hit up Yelp and found a coffee and tea cafe with WiFi called Maplewood that was housed in a neighborhood Victorian less than a mile away, it was a no-brainer.
After that tasty chicken caprese sandwich and kombucha on tap followed up with a perfect cappucino in a clean, comfortable, decently priced warm & inviting space, I now look forward to the next time I have a gig in that part of town just so I can swing by this charming gem again.

Adorable place near Gabriel park with excellent coffee, tea and pastries. Theye have a cute outdoor seating area. Love the history of the building as one of the railroad station houses. Would definitely come back as they have kitchen menu items and even beers on tap!

I'm a huge fan on this space - a Victorian-era building situated on a quiet corner near Maplewood school. Great coffee, tea and food options as well. Personally I wish they were open more hours and more days, but I'm grateful this place is in my hood.

Really nice coffee house with a big outdoor area. It can get pretty busy, so plan ahead.

I came in from Houston, TX for my mom's funeral and needed a place to hold a reception afterwards. Jo was very accommodating and worked with me to create the kind of reception my mom would have enjoyed - an English tea! She offered English tea sandwiches, scones and thumbprint cookies. The only concession to the warm weather we made was iced tea instead of hot tea. The food and beverages were delicious! They worked out the logistics so I could place photos and other memory items on one of their tables. Jo and Allison were terrific and made a difficult situation pleasant.

Attitude of the barista on a Saturday morning was horrendous. Yelling, snappy, and agitated beyond belief. I brushed off her rudeness the first time, but our second interaction had my friend and I questioning wether we should get our money back and leave. Shame because she made a great cup of coffee and the place was darling. Also if you want to talk bad about other customers, maybe do it in the back, we can hear you and it doesn't bode well. For a neighborhood coffee spot the drama here was way too much for us. So much for supporting a small business. We tried.
