Brakeman's consistently provides a great experience!! I work in EMS so I go all over Mecklenburg County, and this is one of my favorite coffee shops around. Today, while in my uniform, I ordered a latte. Ian Lawrence took my order and was so friendly and engaging. He even thanked me for my public service which made my day. The coffee shop was quite busy, but I only had to wait a few minutes for my drink. I received my latte, made by Scott, and it was delicious. He was friendly as well. The customer service here is outstanding, and the employees should be commended for doing a great job.

I usually get Iced Vanila Latte and Great Pumpkin Latte(seasonal menu) with Oatmilk. Today, I got the Iced Slow-Berry Matcha Latte with Oatmilk. WOW! It's fresh and tasty :)
The Berry flavor and Matcha tea taste go well together and the Berry flavor is not too strong, so it does not lose the Matcha tea taste.
And I highly recommend Great Pumpkin Latte for everyone who likes Pumpkin :)

Nice hometown establishment, comforting vibes! Used to come here all the time in HS and upon revisiting have lots of nice memories here.

Most unique and relaxing coffee shop in CLT area. Always slinging great lattes and cortados in a very warm and inviting atmosphere. Great staff. Locally roasted beans. Neat seasonal menu. Busy on Saturday’s when the farmers market is open, but you can not beat a Saturday stroll in Matthews through the farmers market and Brakemans and then doing lunch in one of the great spots in walking distance. Slow down and enjoy the ride! #slowdown
