Staff was very friendly and my americano was delicious.

Much better experience than the visit my last review was based.

Coffee is really good and this is a nice place to sit down and spend some time in conversation and sipping some joe. I see several folks sitting trying to work but I noticed this shop is t the typical quiet coffee shop. It's not loud but personally, I'd have a hard time focusing.

Absolutely a great place to sit down and relax while drinking a coffee. I had a mocha and a muffin but i bet that the other stuff on the menu are fabulous too. I definitely recommend coming here if your and vacation, want a quick drink, or to relax and study. If i could give this place 10 stars i would. The baristas are really nice and helpful and know how to communicate properly. Their merch is also really cool to so if you want a gift for someone that likes coffee you found one. The place is really nice too and very well organized.

Brakeman's is a breath of fresh air for downtown Matthews! We love our local coffee shop and are frequent flyers here. The coffee is amazing, the vibe is perfect, and people love meeting me here for meetings from all over Charlotte. Our kids love to come with us on the weekends to get a kids' hot chocolate and visit the kids' play area, too!

What a fantastic new coffee shop. Needed badly in the little uptown strip in Matthews. The lavender coffee is amazing and my favorite. Not only is this little coffee shop a great local hangout spot but this coffee shop has become a meeting place for all sorts of events. Local city officials and politicians use this as a meet and greet place to discuss local issues and policy. Always worth a stop in when walking through uptown matthews.

Best coffee house in Matthews! Absolutely love this place it's a great place, got great muffins and other assortments, but has the best coffee in town.

I love this place. The staff is super-friendly and it's a really cozy setting. Very nice atmosphere. There are multiple rooms to sit in (including an upstairs). There's outside sitting in the front and back. The location is great too (downtown Matthews).

This is one of my favorite spots in Matthews right now. I may be partially biased by a good date or two. But the coffee is great and it has a fantastic atmosphere. Although it is often busy you can usually find a corner somewhere to enjoy your coffee and good conversation with someone or if you are by yourself working it is also good for that as well!

The vibe at this little downtown coffee shop is excellent, day or night. The staff are very friendly and the coffee and menu is great. All the baked goods are local and the beans are local too. The only complaint I have about this place is that they are not in my suburb of Mint Hill.
