This must be without a doubt the best brunch you’ll find in the area. The food was made with so much care, and presented beautifully — not to mention delicious! Fried eggs cooked to perfection and paired expertly with the perfect bread to onion to havarti to bacon to avocado (a really good avoacado) ratio.
Marty’s Mercantile is a beautiful cafe tucked away near the Ashokan Reservoir. The staff was warm and inviting. They offer a great selection of breakfast/lunch items, baked goods and of course, coffee. (The cold brew coffee was awesome!) The market offers a variety of goods that are sourced from local farms and establishments. If you’re in the area, I’d highly recommend Marty’s!
Spent the weekend upstate in Boiceville with some friends, and we stumbled upon this cute and cozy little place after a hike. The pancakes were some of the best I've ever had! They had a bunch of home-made knick knacks and food items to look through. Would definitely return.
The definition of a neighborhood gem. Small but eclectic menu with creative and delicious choices. Cozy indoor dining room and spacious outdoor patio and lawn. Neat and clean. You might not expect all this from the weathered front of the building which shares the space with the post office. The staff is very friendly and gracious. Will certainly recommend to others and will be back when in town again.
After plenty of overpriced mediocre sandwiches / breakfast burritos at the large chain place on 28 I won’t name, so happy to have finally found this place! Great small local business with delicious food at fair prices. Friendly owner and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
Great food and coffee! The owner is super friendly and accommodating . Can't wait to go back to try some more sandwiches and hopefully enjoy some live music!
You will not be disappointed! My girlfriend and I are first-timers in West Shokan, and Marty's is a nearby breakfast option next to where we're staying. We ordered The Lumberjack platter and Road Warrior sandwich, both of which were phenomenal. Even better than food was the service – the owner and Dominique were kind and super accommodating, from our food orders to the outdoor seating area, they took care of us at every point. All around an awesome meal, pleasant atmosphere and wonderful peoples! Thanks guys, we will definitely be back before the end of our stay!
Amazing food! The sandwiches are perfect. This shop has great breakfast sandwiches, and lunch sandwiches. With a great selection of iced teas, and cold drinks, as well as nice fresh coffee. They also have a little shop with local food and clothing products. A must stop if you're in the Ashoken area, and still worth it even if you're further away.
The iced coffee is perfect. My husband and I got the road warrior sandwich and the Mexicali for breakfast and both were awesome and exactly what we needed before our hike. The staff are all excellent and kind. Fair prices too.
Perfect pit stop for coffee and a snack while driving through the Catskills. Helpful people, solid coffee, and cozy decor. Found the baristas very friendly.
