Fabulous Country Surprise! My deviled egg sandwich was delightful my dining companion had a wrap that was delicious while we sat on the back deck watching children happily playing and families enjoying the outdoors lovely
Love visiting this place when I’m cycling in the area. Great food, perfectly sized portions and friendly service. I highly recommend Bob’s Chicken. While you are waiting for your food (which is not too long), feel free to browse through their impressive array of locally made products.
If you're in the region, you NEED to go here! I was on a trip in the region from New York City for the first time and was looking for a cozy cafe with great food and am so happy we came across Marty's Mercantile! I am not exaggerating when I say these are easily the best sandwich I've ever had. Go for the chicken cutlet sandwich, or if you're a fan of avocado, the turkey club sandwich. Will be back next time I'm in the region!
Breakfast burrito and bacon egg and cheese sandwich were both delicious. Super super nice people working there and the cold brew coffee hit the SPOT- came back for more the next morning. Ate at the table on the front porch and did not want to leave. Would come back in a heartbeat next time in the area.
My daughter's and I were at the Ashokan Reservoir when we asked a local where we could have a nice lunch. He said we'd love Marty's Merchantile up the road. Well, he was right .. we walked into this charming old place and immediately received a friendly greeting from one of the owners... Dominic. The place is clean, well loved, and the food was great! Would highly reccomend!
Found this unique roadside Cafe and giftshop with delicous breakfast sandwiches, had a great cappuccino with oat milk, and saw that they were setting up for an event in their beautiful back yard space. Would highly recommend!
Expect some great food and service here. The sandwiches are h.u.g.e , you get some bang for your buck , tastes fresh , A++ , nice employees and go the extra mile to be helpful. Recommend to anyone in the area
What an adorable shop! Lots of local products to choose from including tea, kimchi, hand knit socks, candles, a variety of cards, coffee, handmade mugs and more!
Breakfast was delish. The bacon is somehow better than other bacon?? Also tried the small batch ice cream. Lucky to have found this place!
A gem of a place! Homey, warm vibe — with a really lovely menu that caters to all! As a vegan, finding good food options away from larger towns can be tricky. At Marty’s, they offered a DELICIOUS butternut squash and carrot soup as a seasonal special; as well as the hearty tempeh sandwich as part of their regular menu. Dom the barista and chef is a real dude — keen to make us feel welcome. Marty himself made a pit stop and made us feel doubly welcome. Dom made the best almond milk hot chocolate I’ve had this fall. Whenever I’m passing this neck of upstate, I’ll be sure to check out Marty’s!
