This restaurant and its sister restaurant the Old Mill are understaffed and it shows with long waits and stressed out workers. The owners should be present at these restaurants to make sure things run smoothly and efficiently. The food was OK but the experience was horrible at both restaurants.
Next time I would get food at the many delis and markets scattered around the Catskills and skip these places.

Very chill atmosphere, strong drinks, and delicious food. Portions are huge! Very grateful that they carry gluten free buns for their burgers as well.

We went there because they were the place that was open and were pleased to find excellent service and absolutely perfectly delicious yet simple food. Veggie pizza was as good a veg pie I’ve ever had and the chopped salad was fresh, had a great mix of veg, and the absolute perfect amount of dressing. Cheers!

Went to Chappies twice over the course of a few days during our stay at The Roxbury Motel, and both times my family and I were disappointed. The food the first night wasn’t terrible as my family ordered the burgers and chicken sandwich. I had the vegetarian burger which was a patty made with what tasted like chickpea. It was very dry and missing an aioli which I felt would’ve made a huge difference if it were present. The ketchup that was given to us had black grime on the inside of the cap which was pretty gross. At the time we were told they were short-staffed so we gave them benefit of the doubt and went on with our evening. However things got worse the second time around. We had ordered pizza from them the next night and we were very upset with the results. To start, when we arrived to pick up our order you could see that the wait staff was utterly miserable. The pizza wasn’t ready yet and whoever was taking care of us never made an effort to let us know when it would be. They just went back to work while we sat and wondered where our pizza was. After waiting 45 minutes total when told 20-30 we were given our order (two 14’’ pizzas) in 4 small boxes. They said that they “didn’t have the right boxes” which I guess is fine but just seemed a little strange. Upon meal time we were met with thin, tiny slices that barely had enough contents on it to even call it a slice. Not to mention that we were overcharged in comparison to their online menu. While I completely understand that a shortage of staff can really impact those working, I do not believe it serves as an excuse when multiple aspects of the restaurant are lacking. I can say with confidence that this place is only in business due to The Roxbury Motel recommending it to its guests. It’s proximity to the hotel makes it convenient to those staying nearby but I feel that your time and money are worth better elsewhere.

We stayed in Roxbury on a Sunday and Monday night. We tried going here for lunch as even though they were at 25% capacity we were told it would be at least 30 min maybe an hour to get food. We left. Then we called and asked for 5pm dinner reservations and my wife had to beg to get them to accept since they had a big group of 15 coming in at 5:30. Mind you, we were the only ones in the restaurant at 5 and the staff wasn’t rude, but they were certainly indifferent and soured our opinion. Then on Monday we tried to order a kids chicken finger and fries to go and were told it was an hours wait.
The only thing preventing me from giving it one star was that the food we did actually get to eat was pretty good. Make your reservations well in advance (or don’t come with kids) cause you will be waiting a long long time.

Nice little bar restaurant in the town of Roxbury. Staff was very pleasant and attentive. Food was very good. Good selection of beers.

Where to begin…The table we were seated at was filthy. We had to request the table to be cleaned. It took us 20 minutes to get a menu. My wife never received the second glass of wine she ordered. The glass my water was served in was filthy (had chunks of something stuck to inside). We weren’t given utensils (my wife ordered a steak, utensils definitely were necessary). I had to go inside and request utensils after several minutes (we were eating outside). The food took 40 more minutes once we ordered, and was mediocre. My pizza was extremely doughy. We told them it was our anniversary. That didn’t make a difference in terms of attentiveness of the servers.
If staying at the Roxbury, there aren’t many options early in the week. My suggestion, do your research on the area and find somewhere else!

Great menu and food looked really good. We were told there might be a 30 minute wait, looked worth it. We arrived at 11:30 AM and ordered within 15-20 minutes of arriving, but we still had no food at 1 PM. We learned that our meals were delivered to the wrong table so we knew it would be a while longer and left.

Delicious food at great cost. Would definitely come back again.

A wonderful meal. Traveling through Roxbury and without checking any reviews (my sons would be appalled), I allowed a serendipitous moment, it was lunch time. I walked in to Chappie's, sat at the bar and a delightful young lady recommended the French onion soup, chili and the burger. Went for the burger, with fries. Outstanding! The fries were as good as I've had (anywhere) and the burger, comparable to JG Melon or Peter Luger. I'm going back...though it's 140 miles from my home in NJ.
