The Original Owl Bar & Cafe

This bar has been around for close to 100 yrs. It is the home of the Hilton families first boarding house. The original bar is still there.

The green chili cheeseburger is what brought my friend and I here, and we did not leave disappointed. The cheeseburger was splendidly made. The beef was super flavorful, the green was hot, and all the veggies were crisp! These burgers get messy mind you because the juices from the meat make the bottom bun soggy. We also had the green chili and cheese onion rings. Definitely tasty, but the onion rings never had a chance to stay crunchy when drenched in cheese and green chili. We didn’t complain though because that combination also went well on the burger. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Super chill, friendly vibe. The green chili cheeseburger is all it’s cracked up to be (it’s a smash burger, too.) pecan pie was a plus.

Quirky dive bar atmosphere! Love the fund raising aspect of putting dollars on the walk. Good food and customer service. Great stop when in the area. Green chili is tasty without a lot of heat. We will go back when we are in the area. About 8 miles from Bosque del Apache NWR.

These are the most delicious tasting burgers. My husband and I have been there twice on our way to Angel Fire NM and they haven’t disappointed us, they are the best. stop by and enjoy a burger and leave a message on their wall of dollar bills. At the end of the year the collection goes to a noble cause.

We had a great dinner. Food was delicious and the service was great! Everyone was very friendly and it was a very pleasant dinner. The fresh made home style fries are my absolute favorite! 10/10 recommended!!

This was such a good place to grab a bite to eat. I had the dinner salad, chicken tenders and fries. My dad really enjoyed the green Chile burger. The fries were realllly good. The prices were reasonable and the service was great. Overall, this was a good place to eat and definitely worth a fun experience. I did have a piece of the chocolate cake which was a nice sweet finish to a good meal.
