Been wanting to try the Owl for years, had the green chile cheeseburger and was not disappointed! Juicy with nice generous medium heat hatch chile between the hand formed patty and American cheese. Add in a great vibe and the sweetest server ever. ❤️

Where to start- well let's start with how the service wasn't so great, the waitress didn't once refill our drinks (it felt like hurry up and eat), the chili cheese fries were watery, cheese was nacho cheese sauce- yuck! Finally the burgers- small, weird tasting seasoning, hardly any green chili, and the cheese once again tasted like nacho sauce! It wasn't the world's greatest, and definitely not worth $$$! No refund was offered from the check out person! I'll stick with Buckhorn!

Very happy to have finally had the chance to stop in and try the famous Owl Bar & Cafe. I came in for the green chile cheeseburger and it did not disappoint. For $12.50, you get a delicious, freshly ground green chile cheeseburger and an order of green chile cheese fries as well. The service was very fast and friendly. Cool little dive bar to quench your thirst as well. Just stay away from the grumpy troll IPA. It's neither good or an IPA. Perhaps one of the worst beers I've ever tried.

We got the green chili cheese burger and the breakfast burrito with ham. The burger was tasty, but needs only the green chili or the onion, they both give it a tang that is a little too much. The patty is a little dry bit with the chili, cheese, tomato and pickles there is plenty of things for the patty to sop up. The breakfast burrito is good much like the #9 from golden pride bit not as spicy. All in all this place is a interesting bar with some good food.

Good green chili cheeseburgers and a reasonable price. A great place to stop on a road trip! The history of the place is really cool too!

Absolute NM classic. Obviously get the green chili burger. Possibly the best onion rings I’ve ever had (get them w queso).

The Green Chile Burger is one tasty burger! Paired with hot fries & a cold Coke you have a classic that can't be beat!
Friendly staff, a great story, and the ability to leave a note on the wall makes this off the beaten path Bar & Cafe a must stop!

We loved the original New Mexico Green Chili Cheeseburger-Service was good & the Owner was so nice & friendly-the lemon pie was divine! worth the drive from Cloudcroft!

It's a hamburger. Skip the dark, grease-laden fries😝 change the oil mate! If you're starving and about to cross the desert to ruidoso the burger is good.

About as good as it gets for green chile cheeseburgers. Fries and onion rings are really good too.
