The Original Owl Bar & Cafe

It's been around awhile and it's a great unique old bar! I've been going to it off and on for years. It had been awhile when I stopped here recently. It's very unique and a neat bar. Has good food, decent prices, and good drinks. Would be packed in any bigger city - but in a little country town and its unique that way, and you no waiting in line - just walk in & can get service within minutes. Also take in the sights for it's like a museum of Owls!

Great little restaurant/bar in a most unexpected place! The Green Chile burger and fries were delicious, and there is a modest selection of craft beers available, too.
Worth a trip off the interstate before or after reaching Socorro

Had not been to this restaurant for over 20 years. While passing through from Tucson I took a friend to enjoy a green chile cheeseburger. They are still the best cheeseburger this side of the Pecos River. Just a few miles south of Socorro you can enjoy a cold beer and one of the best cheeseburgers you'll ever have. I am sure they have other food but I always go for the green chili cheese burgers.

Haven't been back for 15 years. We stopped here all the time when we lived in Ruidoso. Best green chili cheeseburger still to this day. Stop in. You won't be disappointed.

Great experience and great food. We called in and ordered green chili cheeseburgers. The staff was friendly and the food was ready very quickly. Everything was great and we’ll definitely stop back again.

I flat out refuse to pass through the area without stopping at the Owl bar( been doing it for years!) The food and the service are always wonderful and the atmosphere is clean and welcoming. Definitely recommend especially if your looking for a dish with green chile.❤

Cheap and delicious classic chile cheeseburger. You might need two. Gorgeous bar salvaged from the fire decades ago. Fills with locals and tourists alike. Enjoy the wooden booths or the patio.

I just read a novel published in 1995 that had a scene set at the Owl Cafe! It mentioned the atomic scientists who used to stop in, but most importantly it said the green chile cheeseburgers and fries were incredible. So happy to see that’s still true!

This place has been my go to for 40 years! I am never disappointed. Their green Chile cheeseburgers are fresh, hot and delicious. Their service is always fast and friendly. I got mine to go along with a side of their crispy onion rings. Definitely worth the stop every time if you are heading anywhere near Socorro.

Food has really gone down hill. Use to be great food, service is great
Clean bathrooms great atmosphere 👌 if Buckhorn is open I would recommend that over the owl bar. The little gas station next to it has the best fudge.
