The food was good. One of the few places that I have found that actually know how to make onion rings. Good green chili. It's got that local bar atmosphere, so if that's something you like, it's got that.

Been there twice after watching The Round the World Guys vlog. My family and I agree this place has THE best green chile cheeseburgers ever! It's a really relaxed atmosphere. My dad told me when he was in the Army long ago, he went there every weekend to drink, play pool and eat chile burgers. It was his favorite spot when he was stationed at nearby White Sands.

Very great classic green chile cheeseburger! Veggies were cold and crisp, great tasting burger. Nothing fancy in terms of bun but they aren't trying to be a gourmet restaurant. Fries were very tasty but I'd prefer crisper fries. They are fresh though. Worth stopping in!

Great place with an awesome history and amazing food! The green chile onion rings were amazing. Not a fan of spicy, but they weren't too over the top hot, just right and still had flavor instead of just heat.

We went out of our way to eat here after I read an unbelievable amount of praise for a place as remote as it is and it was worth the trip. I thought the green chili cheese burger was out of this world and exactly what I was looking for. It’s all very simple, but good doesn’t have to be complex, good can be just a patty with chopped chilies and cheese. We sat outside due to COVID but the lady working the counter was super nice and very accommodating. I recommend stopping by here if you ever find yourself going by or through San Antonio, NM

My wife and her family are from NM and her father used to stop and eat at the Owl Bar and Cafe when he would pass through the area. He recommended that we try it while we were on vacation in NM visiting family. We stopped for lunch on our way to Las Cruces and HOLY SMOKES! Damn good burgers! I got the green chile burger. It was just the right amount of heat for those who like spicy foods but not overpowering to the point you can't enjoy the burger. The ambience of the bar is also very fun with lots of things to see all over the wall including various police patches from all over the country. I hold law enforcement in high regard so that really was a great thing to see. I highly recommend you also stop and get lunch if you are traveling the I-25 corridor. You won't regret it.

It's like stopping off the freeway into an alternate reality of the most delicious burgers and beer. My favorite

Let me start by saying I never write bad reviews but I need to speak my mind on this one. My husband, myself and my friend (all 50+) drove up to Sundance from Heber City for dinner last night. The bar was not busy at all and we were told to sit anywhere. Ordered delicious cocktails and some fried pickles which were equally good. The server then approached the table and asked me if she could please have a credit card to hold before we ordered dinner. I was taken aback but gave her my AmEx. After dinner she did not bring the bill but asked instead if she should just run the card. Of course I said no and asked to see the bill. I have been asked at busy bars if i want to give them a card to run a tab. This was NOT a busy bar and we were clearly there for dinner. I was beyond offended. Management should fix this policy or educate their servers if this is not their policy. Do not like being treated like a flight risk going out to dinner.

The tastiest burger in the world is not a lie - chili cheese is delicious. Don’t pass by this gem if in New Mexico.
