Review of Sugar, Salt & Malt Restaurant

Sugar, Salt & Malt Restaurant:

Sugar, Salt & Malt Restaurant is a cozy and welcoming spot located in Baker, Nevada. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including pizza, pasta, quiche, and more. The menu is not extensive, but it has something for everyone. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual.

The restaurant is a great option for those visiting Great Basin National Park, as it is one of the few dining options in the area. The restaurant has a decent beer selection and a full-service bar. The homemade cheesy bread is a must-try, and the Ragu over pasta is a popular dish among customers. The vegan menu items are also appreciated by many customers.

The breakfast options are limited, but the restaurant is a cute spot for breakfast in a town with basically no other options. However, some customers have expressed disappointment with the breakfast burrito. The dinner menu is more extensive and offers fine dining options in a place where one would not expect it. The 6oz Ribeye dinner is a customer favorite.

The prices are a bit high, but customers appreciate that the restaurant is one of the few options in the area. The restaurant has a small menu, but there is a little something for everyone. The decor is lovely, and the staff is accommodating. The restaurant is open for dinner from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm on certain nights.

If you are looking for a place to grab a bite to eat before the ascent up Great Basin National Park or just driving through, Sugar, Salt & Malt Restaurant is a perfect place to stop by.

So tasty! Great post-hike food after hiking up Wheeler Peak: home-made cheesy bread, ravioli, German potato salad, Bratwurst...And returned to the coffee shop for coffee and pastries before leaving town in the morning.

Cute spot for breakfast in a town with basically no other options. However the breakfast burrito was trash (I consider myself something of a breakfast burrito connoisseur). Seemed like the cheese had gone bad? In our group 2 of us had a breakfast burrito (and agreed that it was gross) and 2 others had the quiche which they said was good. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day

It is pretty much the only place to eat in town. The staff was very friendly. The prices were pretty high, but you don't have many options in this town. The pizza was not exactly high quality, but it was actually really good. They have some good drink options too. I really like the decor and I appreciate how nice the staff was. They have a small menu, but a little something for everyone.

Food was good, just not great on portions for the price point. The steak was extra tender and was beautifully cooked, just a tad salty for my liking. They shine with their desserts, I highly recommend the ice cream sandwiches. The young 16 yr old was fantastic at giving us advice for travel and it was nice to be able to sit on the patio with our dog. Just a note to consider, their menu changes frequently, so don't go off the pictures from the past because they're menu is limited.

Got the 6oz Ribeye dinner and it was delicious!! Definitely recommend!

This was a very pleasant surprise. Baker, Nevada is a very small place so I figured sandwiches and burgers. Man was I wrong. Had the Cheese Tortillini with the Garlic Cream Sauce and it was delicious. I always order Tortillini when I can find it and I'm usually disappointed. Not this time. Hand twisted cooked perfectly and the sauce was very nice. If you're passing through don't let the outside fool you. But dinner is only from 4:30pm-8:00pm on certain nights. Order the Cheese Bread!

Cute little joint. They didn't have a ton of ice cream options (no malts, boo) but I hear that they are still ramping up. Great location near the entrance to Great Basin National Park. Grab a cold local beer after a hike, grab the kids an ice cream sundae with their fresh cookies, and be sure to visit the little general store across the street.

Excellent service and friendly staff! Went there as I had read a posting about their ice cream sandwiches for dinner. Amazing! Easily seen from the main road in Baker, Nevada. Parking is also available out front.

The food here was super fantastic! Everything tasted great and was freshly prepared. There’s also a great selection of beverages. A short drive from Great Basin too so don’t sleep on this place.

Baker Nevada may not have many options, but this restaurant is wonderful. This is a gem just outside the entrance of Great Basin National Park. You can tell the ingredients were fresh. Who doesn't want just harvested tomatoes and basil in pesto pasta? Options for vegetarians and carnivores alike. Seating available on an outdoor patio with sunflowers as well as inside. Staff very friendly, nice, and accommodating. Highly recommend!
