Yea so this is an awesome place to eat some grub and the atmosphere is ideal for a place to eat at. We had Dee as a server today, she was super friendly and didn't hover but kept the drinks full for us (very important for me).
We ended up having the funnel cake french toast with eggs, hash browns, and a choice of bacon or sausage (team bacon here). It was amazing and went down quite easy, price wise I'm digging it as we spent like $11 between the two of us including the drinks.
5/5 will visit again when I happen by! (Before & after pictures of the food).

When a place is that full all the time You know it's going to be good. Other special of the day was chicken fried steak over hash browns and two eggs service with sausage gravy and toast ordered a side of bacon š¤¤š„ and their coffee was really good love this little cafe š!

A quaint cafe that hits every spot! Not only is the food absolutely delicious but the service is stupendous in this post COVID climate. This is my third time and It's been nothing but perfectly pleasant.

Classic diner vibe. The coffee is hot, the food is good old American griddle classics. The funnel cake French toast was interesting and delicious.

This is ALWAYS our favorite breakfast stop before heading home when we visit our son who lives in Lincoln. Always delicious. Always great service. Always worth the stop. Each time, we have a good experience. Very sweet & helpful staff. Hands down best mimosa & funnel cake French toast. Today they celebrated 9 years of business & gave out yummy mini cupcakes to their guests & patrons. Very thoughtful. Definitely recommend trying this hidden gem cafe!

We have tried almost every breakfast restaurant in Lincoln (North to South Lincoln) -- fun time researching and evaluating each one. Penelope's Cafe is the VERY BEST. Pancakes are great and no after taste of baking soda, omelets ate made with fluffy love and real fresh eggs then their Skillet specials are delightful and delicious. Go now and enjoy the hometown feel of a great locally owned restaurant - we will see you there!

I heard such good things about this place. I have been wanting to go for two years and finally did. I have to say I was expecting more out of the food based off what people had said. It was just your basic diner food. I just got a sausage and cheese and the sausage didn't have a lot of flavor and it wasn't very cheesy. One tiny jelly for four pieces of toast. My wife said that sausage and biscuits was good. Good food but not spectacular. Had eaten at The Engine House the week before and it was better.

This is an excellent cafe. I typically go here for breakfast. The parking is my only critique, but that's the consequence for having a successful small business in a tight space! Great food, great service. I highly recommend.

I took my daughters family who flew in from North Carolina to Penelopeās cafĆ©. We had breakfast and lunch. Our ticket said the cashier was Dee. This might have been our server. She seemed discouraged, and was not pleasant serving us. We noticed on our ticket that we were charged $.59 for some mayonnaise on our burger. We asked for other condiments and there was no charge, so whatās up with mayonnaise? Lots of people have mayonnaise on their burgers.

The service was prompt. The small place was cute. Definate diner style. Food was incredible. I had breakfast. It was cooked perfect( eggs as I ordered) and it was not slopped in grease like some places. I could taste the food as it should be. If you have to wait for a table, do it. Highly recommened!!
