Cashier Jaylen was rather curt. He is not rude but Needs better customer service skills. Not once did he say thank you. That’s where the first impression is made. Such a shame he missed it by a landslide. The quiche is excellent and the sweet potatoes were the perfect accompaniment. The coffee is good. Hate to say it but the orange juice by Tropicana was the best thing in house, and it was in a plastic bottle. The first impression dampened the experience. Perhaps Kaldi’s should do their training through Starbucks.

Great space to meet with a friend and as a bonus you get to taste the best coffee in town! Friendly baristas are also a plus!

This is your quintessential urban college coffee shop with an outdoorsy aesthetic. I am not from this area but was around for an interview and stopped in to kill some time. It was a pleasant place to do so and the shop seemed to be bustling with college students and professionals. It has a cozy, eccentric vibe that many coffee shops tend to have. It has a menu in addition to coffee. My only complaint was that there was no signage or info on the receipt that lets people know the code needed to get in the bathroom. I had to approach the staff to get the code. I understand wanting only paying customers to use the bathroom...but they need to make the bathroom accessible to those paying customers too. I really don't like having to ask someone to use the bathroom.

Meh, latte wasn't great. And the egg and cheese biscuit was not good. Biscuit was gummy and pretty much ruined the sandwich. Also if you're getting a to go order you have to go to 2 different places, one for food and one for coffee. Just didn't make a ton of sense. To top it off it's over priced. For a tiny coffee and the egg and cheese biscuit it was over $10 with tip and tax. I'd much rather go to McDonald's.

The vibe here is perhaps the biggest draw for me—the place has a sort of Colorado ski lodge feel and is full of students studying or chatting amicably with each other.
However, the drip coffee is good as well and fairly priced. Some of the best in the city imo. Also, they have some good wraps and breakfast sandwiches that won’t break the bank either. And chocolate chip cookies that are amazing!
The only problem is parking. I often have to park a block or two down on one of the nearby streets because the parking lot is tiny and the streets are full of Wash U students’ cars.

Kayak's is awesome! I love the feel, I love the people, and their chai latte is unlike anything I've ever had. It's the perfect balance of sweet and spice. Their berry waffle is the softest waffle I've ever had, with the freshest berries. It's like heaven on a plate. It's a really great place if you want to sit and relax and truly appreciate coffee and life itself.

Loved this place. The avocado toast was exceptional. Parking is a challenge if you are trying to park in the lot, but you can get a spot on the street, and a short walk isn't too bad especially if you are dining in.

This place used to be an independent shop called Kayak's. A few of the amazing food choices still exist. Mostly has changed over to the Kaldi's chain menu.
Best espresso in the county. Velvety smooth and rich.
This place will be packed at times. If you are looking for a place to sit and work for three hours, you might have trouble getting a spot unless you arrive early. During WashU school breaks (winter, summer) there is plenty of room.

A good breakfast, no salt or peper to be seen anywhere. Never had a green salad with quiche. Has nice wheat toast butter no jam. Service was nul did not even ask if I need anything. I left no tip at all due to the lack of service given. I have had better meals at St Louis Bread Company.

My family has been coming here for years. I love the log cabin/Pacific Northwest atmosphere with the wooden, yet cushioned, seats! Lots of seating; if I went to Wash U I'd be here all the time. I like the coffee drinks and scones. The food is a bit expensive although I've never had a reason to try it. All in all, it's no more expensive than Bread Co.
