Basically hotel breakfast with no real taste. Had hotel eggs. Best thing was the biscuits and gravy, but the gravy didn't really have much taste. Better breakfast in other places in Branson.

As soon as you walk in the first smell will be the sewer. Four of us ate there, well, took a few bites. The chicken was so tough that I couldn't chew it. Ten minutes later two of us are sick. The other person had gravy biscuits and took 2 bites. The manager was the cook for the night.
I don't recommend this place.
The server was great that's about all I can say good.

I'm writing this review with mixed emotions. We moved here at the first of the year. The Chicken House was one of the places my son and I really wanted to try out. We both loved the giant rooster outside the restaurant.

Today, we decided to give the place a try during lunch. If I could give 5 stars on the friendliness of the staff, I definitely would. The guy who showed us to our table actually walked like a chicken while en route. Our waiter was friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately, the downside was the food. I'm really sorry to say this but on a scale of 1-10, the food barely hit 2. I chose the buffet because I didn't want to wait for my food. The fried chicken was decent, as was the catfish. The short ribs? were full of slices of bones & chewy. I also tried the fried okra and the fried liver. Both which I enjoyed. Not spectacular, but probably better than I could make if I tried at home. I avoided the salad bar because the lettuce blend at 1pm was showing some serious brown & wilt.

My wife ordered the fried deviled eggs as an appetizer. It arrived at room temperature and the outer layer of egg was rubbery. She ordered the Chicken & Dumplings as a main course. It arrived also at room temperature, which she did request to have it heated up. However, the chicken had gristle and bone mixed in, and the "dumplings" were slices of thick pasta type of noodle. This was the first time I've ever experienced her pushing a dish away because it was not worth eating.

My advice to this business is to replace whomever is cooking in the kitchen. Because although you'll get plenty of one-time tourist business, locals will figure out that this isn't a place worthwhile to visit because of the food. The negative reviews will follow. Your business and income will be impacted.

We were very excited to try the restaurant with the gigantic chicken outside. Unfortunately it was a huge let down.

We were super excited to see it had a buffet however it have very minimal options. Two meats one which was burnt (meatloaf) and then literally all the sides were potatoes. And the Salad bar.
The mashed potatoes were amazing but that was it. Everything was dry.

Our biggest complaint was the lady at the register. My son was acting out and not following directions given by HIS parents and she had the audacity to call me out for sending him to the back of our family line for misbehaving. I was shocked and in disbelief that it even happened. The waiter didn’t come by but once. And the bus staff was located right in front of our table the entire time. It felt dirty.

Normally we leave reviews for great experiences only but this time I had it. I could not be quiet. We will NEVER VISIT AGAIN. And for what we got 84 dollars was outrageously overpriced

Only leaving 1 star for the service. The old man singing and the waiter had the best attitude considering their environment. We ate dinner here at about 6 pm. It seemed as if the food on the buffet had been there for a couple days. The place smelled and felt disgusting, but we tried to give it the benefit of the doubt. Thinking that the price may reflect the food. Once again it was a disappointment. Very over priced and very disgusting. I really don’t understand how this place remains open. I am in no way being rude or disgruntled. This is just my honest review of the place.

The restaurant is so cute! But the food on the buffet looked like it had been out all day. The chicken was super dry. Everything was really gross. I went into the bathroom to wash my hands and it smelled so bad l couldn't stand to be in there long enough to dry my hands. My grandson said the men's bathroom smelled terrible too.
It's sad that such a cute place is under such poor management. I hope it improves before they go under!

Our waitress LaRhonda was fabulous, very friendly.
Was disappointed with the menu options which was extremely limited. We went in for lunch and the restaurant was not busy at all, but food still took 25 minutes.
We ordered chicken tenders and chicken & dumplings. I was expecting made fresh tenders and dumplings but it appeared the ingredients were of the frozen variety. The dumplings had a very small slivers of chicken amounting to no more than maybe a couple of tablespoons of chicken and dumplings were definitely a frozen variety. The chicken tenders were the same type you can buy at convenience stores.
Food prices are high for conveniences store chicken. Do not recommend.
First time eating there and last time.

Great for families and home style food. The breakfast buffet is pretty good. They also have a Starbucks inside that does all the drinks with a real barista! Usually no wait. The hand breaded chicken fingers are great for lunch on the go. Definitely take a picture with the 43' rooster out front! Staff treat you like part of the family. Live music in the mornings.

Not good. Food was less than ok. The waitress was nice but incompetent. She brought two of the same dish for some reason. She would ask a question but not wait long enough for an answer, for example she asked about drink refills. We were brought spoons to eat with before someone else brought forks. Our ticket was incorrect and for some reason split in two… Last, someone else in our group was charged our amount on their credit card instead of their own amount. The outside of the building is a lot of fun but inside, we won’t be going back.

We enjoyed the staff and music as we ate dinner. They all treated us like family. The food was excellent! Brought me back to the days of sitting at my grandmothers table! They are under new management, new menu and Cook! I highly recommend you visit The Chicken House while in Branson!
