Best thing about living in Stevens Square. Great coffee, chai, scones, muffins, waffles, and oatmeal, and not too expensive - they also don't do the teeny 8-oz small thing like lots of the other indie coffe shops in town, the small size is still 12 oz. The staff is so friendly and they all have great taste in music. There's always cool art by local artists on the walls. Open early and into the evening. It's the perfect neighborhood "third place" - ideal for getting work done, having a meeting, making a quick stop on the way to the bus, or just hanging out for an afternoon. Dog-friendly, unpretentious, and steadfastly hospitable.

Quint essential coffee shop. Great beans. Friendly people. They’re apart of the community and next to the art institute can’t complain. Loved working here.

This is my favorite coffee shop to go to. It's so convenient, the staff are always so welcoming and upbeat, and the Coco Chainel (chai latte with coconut) is AMAZING. Their scones are super tasty too, especially while they're still warm. Yum!

Staff is very friendly and their lattes are delicious! A small but chill vibe with board games and books to read and hang out.

Great place, friendly staff. Always a cute drawing of a cartoon character on the wall. Also, the work of local artists on the wall gives the place more personality. Last: their coffee is really good!! Keep your eyes open for: pour over (dark roast) and their banana bread.

This is a must if you're into local coffee shops. A good size, and tucked away a bit underground, the Boiler room is super cute, with comfy couches and books to read, friendly staff, tons of local art and events, plus it's dog friendly! Oh, and the coffee's good too. And the waffles are pretty great, give 'em a shot!

Been stopping here for years, I moved away but still manage to stop 2 or 3 times a month. Employees and owner are the best. I do a whole milk latte' ,, outstanding. Sandwiches Waffles etc are great also..

Great atmosphere and coffee. The chai tea latte is delicious and very spicy. They have games to play and books to read. I also really like how they did the bathrooms. The barista was beyond nice. Awesome place overall.

Minneapolis has a plague of coffee shops, one every few blocks, and with each person adopting theirs with a loyalty that we generally maintain for sports teams.

The Boiler Room is mine, but only because it's actually the best one. The house-made chai is an important reason why; the availability of a variety of tea and coffee blends given its size is another; the pricepoint is a third; their work with a steamer is a fourth. There's several more reasons, but can be summarized otherwise as: not generally fancy but delicious, close-to-home, and affordable.

Boiler Room for life.
