Baristas are so nice and helpful. I love living next door to my favorite coffee shop!

Very tasty, non-bitter coffee! Hard to come by these days. Very cute spot with a few breakfast items and decent coffee!

Coffee was hot and good tasting. The price seemed a little high and yet it had been about 2 yrs sin e I had last been here.

It's a cozy little cafe in the boiler room of an apartment building. I go here in the morning before work and get an almond croissant and a mocha, the barista's are friendly and the coffee is great. It's got a cozy atmosphere, and the music is always good. I'd highly recommend this Cafe if you are in the area!

Staff is consistently unfriendly, borderline rude. They charge $8 for a sandwich and even $3 for a small cup of cottage cheese, which is overpriced in my book. I used to like this place, but the baristas give off a negative vibe. I won’t be back.
I’m editing my review to provide more specific info after reading a review Tankut Atuk wrote today. My “last straw” experience was yesterday (4/5) with what I assume are the same two power-tripping baristas, unless they’re all like that?
I had been a semi-frequent customer here. I was in the area and came in to kill a bit of unexpected free time before my next client meeting. One of the baristas came over and informed me I’d have to leave if I wasn’t going to order anything. I was a bit surprised, but technically I was in the wrong - it’s a business and they had every right to ask me not to take up space, so I got up to leave vs. purchasing anything since it was time to go anyway.
I went to use the bathroom on my way out however, and was informed by the other barista that, “If you aren’t going to purchase anything, then I can’t let you use the bathroom.” At this point I was completely taken aback. I can’t remember ever being denied acesss to a bathroom before in my adult life.
Owner: if you’re looking to attract only arrogant hipsters and drive everyone else out, keep doing what you’re doing. Otherwise, find some friendly baristas who have customer service skills and ditch the ones with an aggressive attitude. I like to support small businesses, but Starbucks is doing it right with their more welcoming policy.

The service at The Boiler Room is always phenomenally good. It may be slow sometimes due to its popularity for to go coffee, but the servers that have served me on successive visits are friendly, efficient, and happy to answer any questions that they can. The coffees are stellar and the food offerings of muffins, pastries, large sandwiches and such from the case are delicious and priced fairly. There is a bookcase for book exchanges and works from community artists offered on the walls and selected items on sale from community artisans such as scented candles. There is usually some nice music coming over the speaker system that adds to a nice contentment. For a large café miel and a huge chocolate chip muffin, the cost was $10.50 -- a great value, in my experience.

Just went back since the change and the baked goods and waffles are still great, and staff were still super cool and same great atmosphere. Very different coffee though with very floral med and light roasts. No longer has sandwiches. Haven't tried the new espresso on its own again yet but it also seems very different.

Iced Chai Latte and vegan scone was great. Flies were a little hectic at the end of summer, so eating outside would be advisable when weather permits.

This is a really cute little place. It's in a basement but they have done a great job with decorating and it doesn't feel basement-y. And there are windows! It's very chill, everything is made by hand so it's not a speedy in-and-out coffee shop but it's perfect for a 15 minute breather during the day or to hang out and get some work done. Oh, and the coffee is good!

The new owners have done an amazing job updating and reviving this beloved neighborhood spot.
