Staff was friendly, place was clean, coffee was great and the views out to the lake are an added plus.

Stopped for drinks here during the off season. Good coffee.

Great service and offerings! Java Moose is a warm and inviting place to stop by for a quick pick-me-up or to stay and hang out. The baristas were conversational and polite and clearly knew the menu well. My macchiato was delicious and the breakfast sandwich was perfectly done (a must-try!). As a barista from the cities, this was exactly the homey vibe I was looking for on my trip up north.

Stopped in for a quick coffee before going hiking today. I got the Maple Latte with a side of hiking recommendations. The latte was delicious and the recommended hike was fantastic! I'll definitely be back!

We were staying locally to explore the area. We went here in the AM for some coffee before we started our day. I got the Nordic Miel Latte with Oat Milk and my guy got the Salted Caramel. Both were amazing and really hit the spot. I’m sad I may never have it again. Not overly sweet and still coffee tasting like we like. Mine was sort of like an oatmeal cookie in a way. We also ordered some made to order turkey sandwiches. They came boxed up with some chips and a pickle. The sandwich tasted so cold and fresh it really was so good. Our first few travel meals were not the best so, basic sandwich or not, it made me happy. The staff was really friendly too, and took the time to answer our questions and chat a bit even though there was a line.

My husband and I were driving back through Grand Marais around lunchtime on Saturday and wanted to get a second cup of coffee for our long day of exploring the area. Hubby opted for just a plain cup of drip coffee and felt it was "just okay," but I opted for an iced nordic miel latte which has a combo of honey, cinnamon, and sugar. I thought it was really tasty and unique. The whole time I was drinking it, I kept trying to figure out what it reminded me of and it finally came to me - cinnamon toast crunch cereal! So, if you like your coffee on the sweeter side this may be a really good option. I've had honey in other coffee beverages before, and it's a surprisingly good combination. We travel full-time and have been lucky to buy both whole bean and prepared coffee all over the world, and while Java Moose wouldn't rank amongst the best we've had, I do think it's probably the best we've had in Minnesota so far. Plus, it's got a great location by beautiful Artist's Point and we appreciated that their menu was actually posted online, unlike so many other places. It also seems like they are taking good common sense Covid-19 precautions, so all plusses. Feel free to follow more of our travel adventures on Insta at tailsofpineappleandcoconut

This was a cute small town coffee shop! It felt like a small log cabin. I ordered a coffee and a breakfast sandwich and it was very affordable, plus they had games to play!

I love pretty much any place that sells coffee, and Java Moose did not disappoint. We also enjoyed a breakfast sandwich, my husband commented (with no prompting) that this was the best croissant type breakfast sandwich he has ever had. A very high rating, indeed!
