Java Moose Espresso Cafe

My favorite place in Grand Marais. Well worth the wait if they are busy.

I've been coming here for as long as I can remember! Java Moose is a must stop every morning when we are in Grand Marais! Highly recommend the maple latte! Java Moose also has a cute patio over looking the lake!

Delicious sandwiches available starting at 6am. Great espresso, I prefer it to the coffee. Raspberry white chocolate scone was also very good.

Grabbing coffee and a sandwich here is always one of my favorite parts of visiting Grand Marais— my boyfriend and I just have to go every morning when we’re in town! The drinks are amazing, the food is amazing, the owner and all of the employees are so sweet. Sitting outside and looking out at the lake while enjoying a hot maple latte can only be described as pure bliss :) can’t wait to stop in again!

Great service, delicious mocha and hot breakfast sandwich, best location. There was a long line out the door on Sunday morning but it went fast. Worth the wait.

A Grand Marais staple. Visited 3x in 3 days last week. Great coffee, excellent service, and unbeatable breakfast sandwiches. Happy to wait in line every morning!

The coffee is exceptional! The Lighthouse Latte was delicious on a foggy drizzly day. We grabbed some lunch as well and as expected it was delicious and satisfying. The chicken salad hit the spot and my son loved the ham sandwich. Their cappuccino chocolate muffin made for a sweet ending to our lunch. Will absolutely be back when we visit our cabin next.

Just a good as ever! Last time we were here was a year or two before the pandemic, but they're still going strong. It's always fun to see how businesses evolve over time, especially with merch and menu items, and to know we have some now-vintage collectible items makes us happy. Their maple latte was delicious-- exactly the right balance of sweetness, and the maple cuts through the roastiness of the coffee quite well. As a tradition-because when we're in the area we're usually there for a few days-we make it a goal to try and fill out a punch card every trip (buy 9 drinks get 1 free), and the quality of their stuff makes that super easy to do.

The espresso (in an Americano) was excellent! Great flavor while being in the middle of the acidic - bitter spectrum.
One of the best I've had.

And the outdoor seating patio has a great view of the lake with lots of seats.

The line moved impressively fast so don't be turned off by a long line.

Loved the Java Moose when we visited Grand Morais. Great coffee and desserts. I will be back someday soon!
