This is one of those staple places in Grand Rapids that you have to go to so then you can say you have been there. It is a really cool atmosphere and the whole concept of it is very unique. My only complaint is they do not offer just a plain non flavored black coffee, all of the black coffee is flavored with some sort of fruit or something else. If they offered just a normal black coffee I would give it five stars. I would say stop here though.

Amazing coffee and amazing employees! First time ever ordering coffee and the guy new exactly what I would like! Then when we asked the barista to take a picture of our group, he offered to go outside because there would be better lighting, and even did so! Overall a wonderful experience!!

Coffee’s good, service was neither above or beyond. Asked for one of the clear Togo cups, barista didn’t hear me and I got stiff service for clarifying. Maybe it’s just that certain folks at certain intersections don’t like me? It’s mutual.

Coffee prices are outrageous. Bought an almost $6 mocha and was served a very small cup of coffee not much bigger than an espresso. Good flavor but waaay too small.

They make excellent seasonal drinks here, and their cappuccinos are also great. It's a tad pricey, but it's downtown Grand Rapids and it's more than manageable if you aren't there every day.

I've been a relatively frequent customer for about three years now and will continue to go. I think the negative reviews regarding their customer service are unfounded, as I've been there probably more than 30 or 40 times and have never really had a negative experience of any kind.

The tea was delicious. If you don’t know your coffee terms, it can feel a little intimidating. Friendly staff and fast service. It was loud and tons of people were there. It was a little difficult to hear our order but loved all the musicians on the wall. They were also serving food outside. I’m not sure if that’s normal or an Art Prize thing.

Had single espresso, very good coffee and nice big open space right downtown.

In my opinion - Top coffee shop in the midwest & makes my top 5 list for all of North America. Ask the staff about the coffee - They know a lot about it.

I have not been to Madcap Coffee but as I have recently bought their whole bean coffee online, definitely the best coffee I have ever had!! Although a little pricey, it is 149% worth it!!!! World class delivered to your doorstep!!! When made at home it taste already 110% better then Starbucks... and I am a huge Starbucks fan!!! :( I could only imagine if I would go to the Madcap Coffeehouse I would have given them a 6 star rating!!! Which they don't have that option!!!!! :( ;)

Perfect cup of cappuccino. Baristas very friendly and experienced. They feature a rotating list of blends for pour overs. It's obvious that they either hire passionate coffee lovers or they train them really well. Prices are about what you'd expect at a prime real estate downtown coffee shop.

Pictured here: what their list of pour overs look like on any given day.
