My family and I were visiting Leland for a short weekend. We stumbled upon Madcap Coffee. It was the best experience! We have twin two year olds and they were super accommodating in helping make them their own "kid coffees". The experience and the great tasting coffee had me coming back two more times. Thank you!

Great coffee, great team! There is no better coffee on the Leelanau Penninsula. It is a must visit. They have wonderful blends (recommend Special Origin Coffees) and will accommodate any request. They have limited hours in the colder months and open every day in high season. There is a wonderful place to sit outside during the summer and they are adding indoor seating for the colder months. They love dogs!

We were looking for good espresso after a week of tent camping and the Americano from Blue Boat Coffee was everything we were looking for. Expertly prepared, with a nice thick layer of the natural espresso crema, to warm the soul and delight the senses.

I’m Italian and I know what a good espresso is. This is super acidic. Wondering if from time to time they taste what they serve. And it’s 3.75$ for one shot. Sorry but nope.

Incredible coffee and atmosphere. I had the miel and it was SO GOOD. Can’t wait to come again!

I've been roasting my own coffee for 30 years, and had some experience with professional sensory evaluation of coffee, wine, beer, cigars and distilled spirits- and this is truly terrible coffee. Acidic, but lacking fruity/flowery or citrusy brightness, with vegetal undertones, it tastes like an over-extracted Central American coffee that's been over-roasted to cover defects.
While I don't have a problem drinking stuff like this in the context of roughing it, or when the only coffee available is from a gas station in the middle of nowhere, my expectations for a $3.75 cup of coffee are that it's a decent quality bean and made correctly.
Also, to mirror another reviewer's comments- interacting with the annoyed hipsters in the store regarding the online ordering requirement is less than pleasant. The online ordering requirement is fine- but the list of items for purchase isn't logically ordered or categorized, and it's not clear when ordering more than one of something (like two black coffees), how to specify one with cream and one black.
That's not a big problem, right? But after one encounter with the annoyed hipster, I just didn't feel like another exchange before my first morning coffee.
Bottom line: the coffee is less than mediocre, and you'll want to bring a little patience if you need to interact with the employees.

This is now Madcap Coffee. Excellent quality coffee.

You have to place your order online which is fine, but there’s no information posted about ordering online or what WiFi to use. You just kind of wander around until somebody tells you what you’re supposed to do. I wanted to order some coffee beans, but some items are not listed to purchase. The employee wasn’t very helpful, just told me it was listed between two products on the menu. I didn’t bother asking for more help as they didn’t seem too thrilled to help out. Save your money.

Made an amazing latte and cherry lemonade, but forewarning the prices may seem steep to the average coffee goer.
Service was at a leisure pace (which I did not mind at all) but conversating with the staff seemed laboring.
Will absolutely try again and hope the experience is a tad bit more personal and homely next time. Overall, I loved the atmosphere and location.

Great atmosphere, my mocha was top notch and the staff is amazing. I highly recommend.
