So glad for listening to past experiences from family and being able to read the responses left by this establishment. It’s sad to see the defensive responses calling people racist and confronting people in ways that is inappropriate and uncalled for. So sad but glad I will never be visiting this establishment and will be warning others to not even try to visit this location. Such a disgusting way to handle business.

I have never posted a review of anything, but my experience was so poor that I felt the need to warn others. Local Mocha Coffee sits right next to another coffee shop (Madcap Coffee; which I love and would highly recommend). Because of their proximity to each other, both cafes have tables and chairs outside in the exact same area.
I had gone downtown to grab some coffee and do homework. At the time I arrived, I sat at an available table which happened to be a Local Mocha Coffee table. I noticed that the other customers around me were sitting at both sets of tables/chairs with coffees/beverages from both establishments, so I honestly did not think much about my seating choice. I did purchase coffee from Madcap and not Local Mocha Coffee. Truthfully, I planned to be there so long that I figured I would purchase drinks from both places to support both local businesses. I just happened to choose Madcap first. I kept to myself as customers would sit, enjoy their beverages, and filter in and out. Eventually, there was a lull in the business of both places and I was the only customer left sitting outside at the time. I was listening to a lecture on my computer when an employee (I assume a manager but I am unsure) approached me from behind, startled me and started speaking to me. Because I was listening to something, I did not hear what he originally said, so I removed my headphones, apologized that I did not initially hear him and asked him to repeat himself. He proceeded to yell at me for sitting at his table with the competition's coffee. I told him that I meant no harm, I hadn't thought anything of it and I apologized profusely. I do not like aggression or confrontation (I avoid it so much in fact that I had received the wrong coffee from Madcap and didn't have the heart to bring it to their attention) and I am known for being relentlessly apologetic. When he continued to yell at me and after I had apologized several times, he moved so close to me, got in my face and tried to intimidate me. I have never felt more unsafe by someone in the restaurant industry before. I told him I would be happy to move to a table designated for Madcap, that I truly meant him no disrespect and that I would move right away. I began packing up my stuff and he stood over me and watched me pack until I had all of my stuff ready to move. I had to move the table I was sitting at away from him just to squeeze past him because he was so close to me.
I have previous experience in the restaurant industry and I realize that this circumstance was uncomfortable for him to address. I completely understand how it looked that I was sitting at his establishment's table with a competitor's product. If it were the other way around, it would bother me as well. However, the employee who harassed and yelled at me (instead of having a mature adult conversation about the circumstance) addressed me in a manner that was completely uncalled for. He could have handled it in almost any other way that would have been better than the confrontation he chose. Please do not support this establishment until they can employ better workers to properly handle uncomfortable situations. I am so disappointed with how this situation was handled and I will be extremely reluctant to ever support this business in the future.

I’ve been staying in town for a couple weeks, visiting. I can’t get enough of this place! It’s been an overall amazing experience each and everytime. The food is delicious. The drinks are made with love! The owners are very kind and beautiful people! I’ve been there every single day for the past 10 days and honestly the highlight of my trip was visiting this local coffee shop. I wish i could give them 10 stars but i guess 5 will do.

I never leave reviews about anyting but this....! I called this coffee shop to get an email address just to send my resume to. The woman who answered was very rude. She said that they weren't hiring and I said, " that's fine I would still like to submit my resume so you could keep it on file in case anything changes in the future", she shot down my request, said they were a very small shop, said she had a customer and hung up on me. Frankly, I'm glad she did that because I wouldn't want to work with someone like that. awful service I give them zero Stars!
11/1/21: Well as you can see she has replied and with a vengeance and with a very far fetched recollection of what happened, IN REALITY! Apparently I am lazy (this lady doesn't even know me), she never said a word about Parsley's (liar), I was never told to go to a website- just got a straight shut down when I asked if there was an email I could send a resume to. I don't know what she is talking about in her last insane point that she felt she had to make regarding, "such papers"? I don't know what that means. I wasn't that persistent, really couldn't be, she was "as her reply" to this review, mean and nasty. I asked one time (again) after her rejection the first time, but was interrupted and conversation was done. She was just rude. Her whole approach in defending herself says it all. Bottom line is you don't treat people like that, I would hate to work with her. I'm not surprised that this was how she handled a bad review, nor do I care. Unprofessional, rude and a little psychotic. I need help? Honey its you that needs the help. LOL

I come here each time I’m in town. They’re mochas and other coffees are tasty and generous in size, and the owner is quite nice. They have a huge selection of drinks and snacks as well. Give it a try.

I went with two of my friends to do an "adventure challenge" (a book of scratch off adventures). We were to order random coffee drinks and try guess which drink they were from the menu. We chose this coffee shop because they had multiple differnt flavored drinks. My friend waited in line while me and our other friend went to find a bathroom. She told the lady making drinks what we were up to and that we would like 3 random drinks. No complicated requests, just whatever she felt like making us. She told my friend that she didn't have time for this. She REFUSED to serve her. It was a very disappointing experience and we can't help but feel it was because our friend was wearing a pride rainbow hat, with the Christian music playing in the background.
I sure hope we are wrong in speculating that it was discrimination. But despite the reasoning, why would any business treat someone this way if they want their business to succeed? I hope anyone reading this review will consider not supporting this business.
And if this is a Christian business, I hope they take time to consider how they make people feel, because if I wasn't a Christian myself, I would never choose Jesus based on how they represent.
