Nice local place that recently changed hands. Energized ownership present in front and back of the house. Smiling, friendly service that is genuine. We enjoyed the coffee as well - nice “beefy” mugs folks! I highly recommend the fresh cut, homemade rye bread, toasted. One suggestion- Use real, dairy butter on the toast, or get it “dry” I do highly recommend

Quaint little breakfast place in downtown. We had the ham & cheese omelette, french toast and the Monte Cristo sandwich, which were all quite tasty!

Warning: They charge a 3.95% fee to use a credit card. It's posted on the entrance door upper left corner, but of course nobody reads and expects this uncostomary fee and until you see it at the bottom of the bill.

A 4 person breakfast was 68.00+ tip. The food was good and the coffee was tasty.

Food was ok. 3 tables were dirty an uncleared from their previous customers for 20 minutes before we were sat through the entire time we ate. The servers in yellow worked very hard. A man that was behind the counter opened a bottle if champagne and walked around drinking it out of the bottle. Very unprofessional. Will not go back

Great place for a home cooked breakfast. Great waitress staff. Clean and friendly.

My apple cinnamon chimichanga was a bit too sweet, but super delicious. I also tried the breakfast skillet, which was phenomenal. Our waitress was very nice. We had a party of 9 and everyone enjoyed their food.

This is a post I meant to write in early November when we visited on our vacation. We entered Water Street Cafe about an hour before they closed on a Sunday. We were immediately impressed with the atmosphere and our waitress. We looked over the menu and were satisfied with our choices and the price, especially for lunch time. We both ordered a meal with noodles. The manager came out to us apologizing that our food would be delayed a few minutes because they needed to make fresh noodles. He was overly apologetic, which was unnecessary. Instead of using leftover noodles (which most places would do), they chose to make us fresh noodles. We were still in and out of the restaurant within 40 minutes. He also gave us a discount on our food, which again, was entirely unnecessary.
The food was absolutely amazing, and if we lived closer, we would be eating there often. But it was the service that blew me away. I highly recommend Water Street Cafe to anyone near the Boyne City area. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Thanks for making our vacation even more enjoyable!

The breakfast skillet was the best I've had. The gravy was thin, but homemade. Didn't feel super heavy which I liked.

Do not recommend. The food is underwhelming and seems cheaply made. Extremely unaccommodating to their guests - refused to let our party of 8 sit together, wouldn’t even consider letting us rearrange the tables. What kind of restaurant is that inflexible in seating? Such a shame to see what was once an amazing breakfast spot as Water Street Cafe decline so much in quality of food and service toward local guests.
