Amherst Coffee arguably serves the highest quality cup of coffee in town. The beverages are niche and interesting, and the late night whiskey choices are top notch. They serve Tart brand pastries from their sister resturant in Northampton. A small selection of decent sweets. Amherst Coffee does not have a traditional kitchen, but has one or two light food options available. I have never purchased the food due to its high price to value proposition.

My drink was outstanding! Service was amazing. All the causes didn't diminish my experience of just wanting a great coffee and they delivered beautifully!

Great place to sit and talk with friends or to work by yourself.

I am a regular at Amherst Coffee, and a sometimes at Northampton and Greenfield. All 3 locations are relaxing, I can focus on my work, socialize, enjoy privacy even when the place is full, and feel it accomplishes that "third place" idea it's going for. The staff is capable and friendly without having that barista conceit, the coffee and baked goods are very good (kudos to Tart Baking, also theirs). When my daughter is in town, it's our tradition to go their together to commune together. The people watching is also very good. I'm a very critical person, so this is all high praise.

My only complaint - and it's more of a personal problem for me than a fault of the business - is that it's almost always packed! The coffee is good, the staff are nice, and their pastry case sometimes holds those almond meringues from Tart that really compliment a nondairy cappuccino.

Overpriced coffee and booze available during pandemics and plagues. Dive in or eat out. Inconveniently located in dystopian Amherst. Did not save the Drake. Graffiti on building is toy and needs updating. Clean bathroom accomodates up to 20 people or one small moose and 2 small children. Capitalists. Not recommended for humans with IQ above 60. Tables and chairs provided at no cost are good source of fiber. Clean ceiling. BYOB.

A very intimate coffee shop & bar with ample seating and a hip atmosphere. I'm a little bummed they got rid of the water fountain and wish they had a bit more food on the menu to make it a better place to linger, but the atmosphere and the quality of the coffee easily trump these issues.

The best dang coffee I've ever had. Something about that Great Barrington Roasters they use that is so full bodied. If you like mild and smooth, get a value can at Big Y for $5...but if you like all the nuance and complexity you can get then you've got to head to AmCo.

One of my favorite spots to read, write, and/or catch up with friends. The coffee is nice, and their teas are awesome. (Try the Golden Monkey!) AmCo is also a good spot for drinks in the evening -- understated, simple, and quiet. They've recently been hosting live music here, which changes that vibe, but in a good way.
It often gets crowded, especially on Sundays, and after dusk, it gets too dark in here to read, but other than that, AmCo is a favorite.

A great little coffee shop in town with delicious coffee and other hot drinks. It is usually very busy here, but if you manage to snag a table it's a great, albeit loud, place to study. They also have free WiFi.
