I've gone to Amherst Coffee for years and I keep coming back even though I've moved away. The staff is personable and they care about their coffee and baked goods here. Plus, they have a very easy to use online ordering system during covid that makes the morning coffee routine safe and speedy (available even though they were able to open their doors again). They're great, give them a shot!

The drink selection is good and so is the food. However for being a coffee shop they don’t offer wifi anymore so if you are looking to get work done do not go here!

Super nice vibe, staff was friendly, the cold brew matcha that i got was beyond amazing, very nice plants, and lots of tables. Overall a great first experience!

Absolutely love this place, great for conversations and really really good drinks. They have a good connection of alcohol and the bartenders know their cocktails really well. Do try the Sazerac and the Merchant. Absolutely brilliant drinks.
In the day time this place serves brilliant coffees, and can definitely be your new remote workplace with really good staff and ambiance. Register for their loyalty system and they'll mail you free coffee vouchers. It's too good to pass on.

I am happy to edit my review. Coffee lately has been much better, like old times.
Old review:
I would like to explain the 3 stars. I moved to Amherst last year and Amherst Coffee blew my mind. The coffee was excellent. It was a simple place, just order a latte and enjoy. Lately something changed, and changed for worse. I've been there a couple of times this spring and every single time I was served burnt coffee. And while I can overlook the slightly high price, while I can overlook the fact that the only real drink they have is latte (their capuccino is just a latte in a smaller cup, I don't think it's worth), I can't overlook burnt coffee. Now it's been quite a while I haven't returned (as Google just reminded me, and ultimately the reason why I am writing this review). I may give Amherst coffee another try, but someone should really look at the whole espresso preparation process. I hope it returns to be what it was last year...

My favorite Coffee Shop in AMHERST!!! Excellent coffee, chill and pleasant baristas, good wifi, always crowded but can always find a seat. The espresso with milk is terrific, and I am extremely partial to the Hot Chocolate with Soy. Their iced coffee is the best in town, hands down bar none no questions asked. My only, very mild complaint, is a lack of regular gluten free pastry options.

My husband & I love coming here at night for a good drink & ambiance. I have only had their coffee once-it was good, & an amazing hot chocolate another time. Their alcoholic drinks are on point! The staff is always friendly & the local flavor can’t be beat

Amherst coffee is a small, locally owned coffee house in Amherst, MA. The drink menu is fairly short compared to most modern coffee houses. They had two coffee choices, a dark and a light. Their French roast (dark) was quite good; I don't try the light roast. Their espresso was average. They do make lattes, but don't have flavors. The baristas are quite nice. It was fairly crowded when we were there; we ended up sharing a table with another couple. I would recommend this place for a nice cup of coffee from a locally owned business.

Very warm & cozy place. With good coffee and special cocktail.

An ok cafe in the heart of Amherst. The best aspect is it caters to a mixed crowd of espresso and alcohol drinkers. I can hang out there in the evenings with friends who don't drink espresso and I don't drink alcohol. However it's a bit pricey, their pastry selection leaves a lot to be desired, and they shut their WiFi off on the evening. That last point seems like a direct attack on anyone who might want to relax with a drink and get some work done. Better places in the area during the day, at least for espresso, but this place fills a void in the evenings.
