The Bakist is simply perfection. Everything about this place is amazing. Delicious breakfast sandwiches, decandent pastries, and some of the best coffee I have had to name just a few things. The Bakist is certainly worth a stop. It was so delicious I had to go back in for seconds!

First time here. It is my understanding it is new management. Got a breakfast sandwich, ham and cheese quiche, chocolate pastry, and coffee. Everything was good and priced fair for the quality. Was also nice to eat near the water. I would definitely recommend trying this place if you haven’t been recently.

Excellent coffee and food! Can take a little bit of time to receive your order, but well worth the wait. We always bring out of town guests here for breakfast, coffees, and for a walk around the pier.

Been here 4 times tried 3 different items, each one mediocre or awful. They are either undertrained ,understaffed, for the crowds or they need to reduce the amount of menu items to make orders correctly and with quality. I got a london fog or (lavender fog) on their menu which should be the same thing london fog typically has a dash of lavender flavor. This was more like london water. No vanilla, no steamed milk,no sugar, not even sure they used enough tea for my size of cup, came again thinking it was a fluke, but got the same quality. On another visit I got one of their smoothies, again it tasted like I was just slurping on slush water. On another visit I tried one of their breakfast sandwiches. They use liquid (precracked) milk carton eggs and/or those quick egg cookers that overcook the eggs, which I'm not totally opposed to. But when you think you are paying for a fresh made breakfast sandwich you kind of expect a bit more quality. Overall the sandwich was bland just like everything else I tried before. I think most satisfied reviews on here are people who just order coffee based items or locals just try to pump their only small town coffee joint. So if you don't like coffee don't come here.

The new company that bought this bakery has done an excellent job! The last time I went there it was “Sweet Sues” and I didn’t know it changed, I went in yesterday and was pleasantly surprised! The store is so welcoming (fun stickers, pins, bags and pride flags!), the pastries are all beautiful and delicious and the coffee is great! They even had gluten free brownie samples, which was a pleasant surprise and I ended up buying a brownie for my partner who loved it! I will definitely be going there more often to get coffee and pastries ☺️ And I recommend stopping in this quaint little shop if you’re in the area and want something tasty 🥰

We had to stop by and check out the new and improved Sweet Sue’s. I must say I was very impressed by the amount of bake goods to choose from. We couldn’t make up our minds so we got a smorgasbord. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can tell everything is made homemade. I will definitely be ordering cakes from here or stopping by if I have a sweet tooth. 🤤❤️

Best bakery around! All the food is phenomenal, the coffee , sandwiches and delicious homemade baked goods. We are so lucky to have this dynamite bakery in Calvert. The baked goods are unmatched!

The lavender latte is perfect!

Awesome place! Better get there early because they freshly bake everything and they run out, but everything we have got has been amazing! Good drink selection, a must go!
