We stopped here twice over the weekend and both times were sadly disappointing. W have traveled to the area for years and while sad to see Sweet Sues closed, hopeful about the new place. Both times the hot and iced coffees we ordered were incredibly weak. Like, I might as well stop at a gas station weak. And the GF muffin we ordered was truly inedible. It was stale, dry and tasteless. The staff should know better than to put old product out. We were sad about this place.

Cute bakery, great cup of coffee! We were in North Beach for our wedding weekend and visited the bakist 3 or 4 times. The lavender brown sugar is delightful. Plenty of options such as oat milk, almond, etc. Enjoy!

Great breakfast sandwiches, coffees and a really cute environment. They also sell really cute merchandise like stickers, cards, magnets, cups and tote bags. Even though I’m not a part of the community, I consider myself an ally and I love the fact that it’s LGBTQ+ friendly.

Love it, but....

Really, i have only one, small, critique of the bakist - the bacon isn't crispy!

It seems a small thing, but when you put stringy bacon in a breakfast sandwich it's hard to chew through and we end up pulling most of it out. Precooking the bacon or allowing it to cook just a little longer would make these sandwiches perfection!

It's da bomb! Big recommendations to the avocado toast with the pesto, feta, and cream cheese. It's stupid good. Also the club sandwich! That one is on a bagel and it's got all the nasty boys you want, like bacon, ham, cheese, some mysterious sauce. You feel dirty afterwards, like in a good way. Yummy stuff. Their carrot cakes are worth taking to the afterlife. Their blueberry thick boy scones are sick nasty and their chocolate croisants are dope times! Also, they have coffee!

I use to love this place. Seems like it’s declining. The cashier(girl with the glasses) messes up everyone’s orders. The quality of the food and coffee has dropped dramatically. Seems like a bunch of kids running the place nowadays. It’s hard writing this review because this place is really popular and use to be top notch.

I’ve lived in the area since the 1990s. This bakery is located is in a great area, in the north beach hub. The area has changed over the years and I enjoy walking the boardwalk, seeing the sights, and spending local. I was surprised Sweet Sues closed but excited for a new business thinking perhaps it would be better than the previous bakery. The menu did nothing for me-unless you are a breakfast person. However, when I walked in the door, I wanted to walk right out. The air was so thick-it’s like one of those places where the employees are miserable and you made a mistake by walking in. I purchased a muffin and coffee. The muffin was so dry that I threw it out. The coffee was nothing to brag about. My Nepresso rocks compared to the coffee I purchased. Pricing was a little expensive—something you would pay for gourmet coffee and baked goods. I wish this merchant all the best but I won’t be back.

I cannot recommend this place enough! Every thing they do is divine! The specialty coffees, the cakes, cookies and variety of baked good are awesome. As a person that is on the road by 5:45 in the morning, I really like the fact they open at 6 AM. I appreciate their inclusiveness of all good hearted humans, I feel welcomed here.

I've tried the bakist a couple times hoping it would get better. But my bagel this morning was not edible. Chewy, cardboard like. I don't like giving bad reviews but I've given it quite a few shots an disappointed everytime. The staff was very friendly.
