It is a wonderful experience yes but I have it 4 stars only because I’m comparing it to fresh baguette which is close by.. both have great food.. both have great service but tatte is about 30-40% more expensive and it’s hard to park nearby

I usually love Tatte and their products are top notch. However, the Bethesda location seems to be lacking some basic elements of service. They don’t offer cutlery when you order something from the counter, and they instead directed me to a station where they had pre-wrapped white plastic forks and knives. The utter travesty of eating a nice $9 tart WITH A WHITE PLASTIC FORK sent me into such a fit of depression, I silently whimpered while eating it in the corner. Also, they need to keep the counters cleaner. I had the unfortunate experience of sharing this sad tart with a wayward black hair, which was laying next to me watching me silently sob while eating my tart in despair. Get some real cutlery if you want to call yourself “a polished cafe” and clean the damn counters. Don’t know why the basic elements of service allude most American cafes.

The food is usually delicious but recently the quality control especially with take out orders have drastically gone down hill. Last time we were missing salad dressing when we ordered, and this time there was a whole peach pit in my peach tartine! I removed the pit and ate the sandwich but still disappointing. For this price, you would think it would be better.

VERY TASTY.
4 stars because of service and they can’t warm up cookies. Took too long to get our drinks, I was done my pastry before our drinks got here. Wish we waited up front and they handed it to us instead.
Still lovely cozy place and will be back.

A cute looking spot with a lot of issues. Me and my girlfriend had ordered food to eat in at one of the tables outdoors. A few minutes in, we went to go order more food and after our first order was served to us, we sat there for 30 minutes waiting for our next order. After it never coming, we go to ask the front desk lady what happened to the order (since you pay for it when you order) and she rudely exclaimed that it was sitting in a to-go bag in the front. We never asked for anything to-go and now the food was cold and in a small plastic container. I got the lamb plate. It was a bowl of rice, shredded lamb and cilantro for $14 that is probably 1/4 of the size of a chipotle bowl. This “to-go” oversight and rudeness of the staff ruined our dinner. The reason it isn’t 1 star is because the dessert was actually quite tasty.

Love everything about this place - food, drinks, decor, service, speed, quality. 10/10 would recommend. And they do a great job at making gluten free treats too.

Any time i see a cafe describe themselves as chic i roll my eyes and expect 30$ soft boiled eggs over avocado toast or some garbage. To my surprise tate was amazing, their croissant sandwich thing, the croque madame was pretty good. The best thing was the honey halva tatte house latte though. As their signature drink, they definitely made a strong impression. It's not overly sweet but its subtle blended flavors get better the more you sip and leaves you wanting more after finishing your cup. I'm definitely going back, if not for breakfast, definitely the latte.

I wish there were some comfier places to sit or more big tables! Space is beautiful and spacious, not a cozy type cafe. Food was very tasty, got the croissant breakfast sandwich and some avocado toast. Service was pleasant and the team is knowledgeable and patient. Will definitely go back, but maybe not to work for the morning -- more of a place for conversation!

This place is great. The service is fantastic. They are always smiling. They also serve Stumptown Coffee out of Oregon which is great coffee. Only issue is I can never just get a coffee. The pastries always look so amazing, that I have to get one every time. If you haven't stopped by yet, you need to. It's great.

Very nice bakery and coffee shop with European-style confections, like croissants, koign-aimans; very friendly and efficient service. A variety of coffees, lattes and teas. Also simple sandwiches. The space is very elegant and subdued, with inside and outside seating. Prices are above average.
NOVEMBER 2022 UPDATE: Tatte still has excellent pastries, coffee and now, light lunch menu and brunch all day Saturdays and Sunday. This time I got a pistachio croissant and a small latte with three shots of expresso, whole milk, no foam. Tatte uses Stumptown Coffee on their coffee drinks. Everything was delicious. You can see the kitchen through a glass wall on the back. Highly recommended.
