I love Roots Cafe!!! This has become my place for great food and fellowship. The moment you walk through the door, you know you are not just walking into a coffee shop, you are walking into some place special. The food and Coffee is outstanding, but beyond that, the team at Roots are welcoming and professional. They work hard to ensure that you are provided a great experience while you are there, and it all starts with a warm greeting and welcoming smile. If you want to meet a friend for coffee, and need help keeping the kids entertained and well taken care of, They have you covered with professional childcare on site to allow for some time to for you to step away and enjoy some adult interaction. The walls a lined with books and other resources that are available for you to enjoy without charge or the need to carry around that ol' library card, just enjoy it, and return it when you finished so someone else can enjoy it too.Do you love live music? Yup you guessed it, they've got that covered too. Local artist perform there every Friday and Saturday night. I have been to the music nights a couple of times and it is nothing short of amazing. I cannot say enough about Roots Cafe, and their approach to providing great, healthy food, a welcoming atmosphere, and place to connect to with friends, and maybe make some new ones along the way. Well done Roots, I applaud you.

Great place to sit down for hours over coffee and crepes! Delicipus, high quality food and unique coffee drinks. The atmosphere is very casual and trendy. As an added bonus there is a little bookstore attached. An amazing new restaurant to the Westbrook area!

A pleasant cafe near downtown Westbrook.

Roots is a place I may not have discovered if not for my wife, but I'm glad I did. The interior is very spacious and well-lit with a hip chic aesthetic. Though the business has blatant religious undertones, no need to be scared away as nobody bothers you about it.

Aside from coffee, lattes, and smoothies - Roots also offers up fresh baked goods, soups, sandwiches, and even crepes. There's a daycare attached if you have kids (and I hear it's free) and there is live music on certain nights and times. Oh, and free WiFi if you're a blogger like me and like to hunker down for a few hours and drink coffee and write.

The staff are all very friendly and pleasant, the food is delicious (seriously, try the crepes), and there are lots of caffeine options if you need to stay awake. The place can get kind of loud, but other than that I have no comments to detract from this place.

Would highly recommend, especially since there aren't many great cafes in Westbrook.

I just love this cafe. Delicious coffee, lattes, and smoothies. The crepes are so flavorful and filling. And the quiches are perfect. Added perks are the lending library, small store with local goods, and probably best of all is the free 1.5 hour childcare. And the ladies actually play and interact with your kids. I can’t say enough good things about this awesome place.
Must try: salted caramel latte, quiche Lorraine, and the breakfast sausage crepe. Also the cookies and cupcakes are kid approved.

Excellent food, great service, family friendly atmosphere. Love the library and Christian outreach! This is a must go destination place. The Maple Bacon Crepe is a meal straight from heaven! The Chicken Avo was also excellent!

The food was great, as well as the coffee. Waiting for the patio to open back up.

This place has a super neat atmosphere, wood accents, including live edge breakfast bars, nice stained wood tables and chairs, and warm lighting that give it a very unique atmosphere that's very pleasant to be in.
The coffee actually tastes good and is reasonably priced.
At first we were a little skeptical of the "sandwich?" Prices, but these aren't your average sandwiches.
We quickly ordered the maple bacon sandwich and damn was it excellent.
We we're expecting a couple breakfast sandwiches thrown together on some toast or something.
Instead we were pleasantly surprised with two well put together crepe wrap egg things filled with tasty mapley bacon.
I wish I had thought to photograph it first but I already ate the whole thing and I'm stuffed.
That was also a pleasant surprise, being pleasantly full afterward.
I would highly recommend stopping in at this place even just once, it's unique, friendly, tasty af and really really cool.
Glad we decided to make the stop there this morning and give it a try after driving by so many times saying it could be neat to stop there some time, it was in fact neat. :)

I was a little shocked at all the Christian products and books when walking in after looking it up prior and seeing no hint of religious influence online. The coffee was okay, the egg tart was cold (after being warmed up), and the crepe came prepared where all the ingredients sunk to the bottom corner due to being folded up and tucked into a french fry cone holder - after waiting 15 minutes for it. I was really hoping to have a great local coffee shop close by, but sadly this isn't it. The staff was very friendly, but I personally could do without the anti-abortion lecture happening a seat over from me.
