Roots Cafe

I had a baby shower in their private room and it was amazing. The menu was salad, squash soup and cheese puffs. Chocolate chip cookies were yummy. I highly recommend Roots for just a quiet cup of coffee or to have them cater an event.

Food is awesome. I love that it is completely Gluten Free. Safe for my grandson. Was amazed that their books are part of a lending library. What a great little addition to the Westbrook area.

Recently made a last minute order for my boyfriend's birthday (24 hours notice). Spent $30 on a dozen cupcakes which I was told were going to be part of "a fresh baked batch".

These cupcakes were so stale, if it weren't for the icing, and my receipt taped to the order, he probably wouldn't have eaten more than one.

Terribly disappointed...won't waste my money here again. Long distance birthday suprise ruined.

Friendly quick staff. However the menu is lacking. I was on the hunt for breakfast, and left with just s coffee. I'm a huge fan of breakfast sandwiches, not to be found. They have a number of breakfast items, like tarts, quiches, and crepes... but no bagels, breads, english muffins, muffins etc. The saving grace is the very good assortment of coffees teas etc. Also they offer Gluten free and organic choices. I'm going to drop in for lunch and see if the soups, salads or other savory items are better than breakfast. If you want something different or have gluten issues or dietary restrictions give it a try.

Roots is an amazing place!! Great food, coffee, deserts and people. Im blown away by their investment to start a community book lending project and a FREE daycare for mothers looking for a reprieve. God Bless and sustain this beautiful cafe!

Just throw a 20 in the trash and you'd at least save your tastebuds from being violated. Sandwiches come on drywall, not bread. They only cut the top piece in half, I guess for added amusement. They're as skimpy with the fillings as they are with flavor. They ask you if you want a receipt, but fail to mention you need said receipt to know which order number you are. This leads to a lot of unnecessary confusion, and other customers end up grabbing your order... The deer in headlights who rang us up at the counter wasn't the least bit friendly or engaging. Can't speak for the sweets, coffee was decent.

I am beyond impressed with the entire concept of this establishment. Excellent service. Great food and an incredible lending library (what?!). I can’t wait to utilize the conference room for meetings. Is it too early to say that I envision more locations across the region? Love this place!

Clean and inviting atmosphere

This place is like heaven. Coffee is great, smoothies are fresh, crepe variety is amazing, and they have a sitter. This place is very business casual and kids aren't allowed on the cafe side. Very Christian business.

Very friendly staff, calm and enjoyable atmosphere, and great live music.
