After looking this place up I wasn't expecting an entirely gluten free menu, I was very into the fair trade aspect though. Only did I see the "*all menu items are gluten free" note after wondering why the bread on my sandwich was so dry and bizzare tasting. They also don't mention the uncomfortable Christian tones on their website either. We ordered a lackluster breakfast sandwich and special sandwich which advertised having caramelized onions, which were more sweated rather than caramelized. Both sandwiches were hardly heated through. My coffee was acceptable enough, the cortado however was just not good. I don't plan on returning and please do not reply to this with your motto being "LIVE OUT LOVE", I dunno, weird vibes, don't like it.

This was our first time to Roots. Nice atmosphere inside and the coffee was great! My daughter got the Chocolate Crepe and I got the maple. I would have said 5 stars as they looked tasty, but I ordered mine without bacon and it came out with a bunch on it... I did not have time to go back in and try to get a new one made as we were on our way to my daughter's soccer game...so my husband ended up enjoying my Crepe instead :(

Great new place!! Pretty busy on a Saturday morning and still got my crepe pretty fast! Friendly staff! Lots of outlets great for if you wanted to study.. free WiFi as well. Great lighting with the large windows. Definitely check it out!!

Great atmosphere.
Hard to find parking when busy.
FedEx blocked the whole road.
Food was ...eh...not bad. I think a little more salt would've made it better..

Don't know why we've never stopped here before! The food is absolutely amazing and it's all gluten free! (Not that we need gf, but it's tasty.) There's a nice mix of breakfast and lunch options plus a ton of baked goods. We tried the maple bacon sandwich (df) and it did not disappoint. The panini was toasted perfectly and the bacon was filmed to perfection. Also tried the maple espresso drink and holy moly it was perfect. Not much left to photograph, lol.
The donuts were all baked not fried and smelled so good.

Great selection of food. Great atmosphere. They make my special drink right and quickly. Hope to enjoy the rooftop this summer.

Great coffee and pastries with a cool mission to serve their community. Definitely worth the visit out to Westbrook.

I have celiac so this place is a dream come true for me. At first I stopped in for a smoothie, and wistfully looked at all the delicious pastries thinking they were normal gluten containing. But as I was drinking my smoothie and browsing the web I found that this place is a dedicated GF facility!! I almost fell out of my chair. I got a chocolate sugar donut and one of their seasonal cookies I think (forgot the name of it), and they were both sooo good, so soft and doughy. I'm visiting the state and will definitely be stopping on my way back south for some breakfast. The atmosphere of the shop is also very pleasant, and there's a fair amount of seating.
