Tandem Coffee and Bakery

You should not miss this place when in Portland!! Everything they serve is EXCELLENT. The chai latte is perhaps the best I’ve ever had. The scones are a perfect density and have a soft inside but crisp outside. The breakfast sandwich is divine (and so filling). The biscuits - wow.

My wife is from the south and has high biscuit standards and she loved the biscuits here. We had the sweet (with peach jam) and savory (egg and cheese) - both were amazing.
The mocha was one of the best ever

Very cool converted gas station of sorts with seating outside which I always love. Line can get a little long but you never wait too long for the order. Milk options are limited - oat and cow's milk when I was there - but if that's your vibe then its perfect. The bakery treats are pretty inventive too. Love the loaded jam biscuit!

This place is the best! We always come here when we're in town visiting friends. There's usually a line on the weekends, so this time we went on a Thursday morning and had no wait time at all. The biscuits are the best we've ever had. The cookies were great too.

Espresso was excellent. Scones and breakfast sandwich were out of this world. There was a line but it moved quickly. Service was great. Must try if you’re in Portland. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their coffees and amazing breakfasts

Amazing coffee! They take pride in the coffee they serve and it shows. I know they are always busy and there’s a reason why! If you have the chance to stop by I highly recommend it. I tried their honey latte and it was perfect!

If you are standing in line and looking at these reviews, or maybe you saw the line and want to see what's up ... it. is. worth. the. HYPE. I recommend getting there as soon as when they open as you can to ensure you get one of the breakfast biscuits because HOLY COW. Most delectable breakfast sandwich I have ever had. So simple, yet mind blowing. What do you guys put in those biscuits?? Shouldn't even be legal. Anyway, the molasses coffee was rich, earthy, perfectly balanced sweetness. Why not get a little iron and B6 with your caffeine? The pistachio cake was so dense and tasty, took me 2 days to finish it. This spot is a must stop.

Excellent pastries, coffee, and hot chocolate. Good amount of outdoor seating and the line to get into the bakery moves very quickly.

Popped in on a visit to Portland because it was recommended. Had the sticky bun, and biscuit with butter and Jam, also had a chai late and my partner had the black iced coffee.

I'm from the south and the biscuit was great for New England standards. The chia latte was average. I would probably go here again and try a different drink! But I can't say I would wait in a long line to order from here.

This used to be a cozy neighborhood cafe. Now the seating area has been taken over by their take out business. Their lovely La Marzocco has been replaced by fully automated machine. I respect the growth of the business but disappointed we lost the (old) Tandem in the process
