Love the cowboy and loaded spoon burger with a sunny side up egg on it.

First time going there. Waitress was exceptional. It was easy to see she liked her job.

I had a Bloody Mary which was pretty good after I added some lemon in it, and the more I drank the better it was.

Everyone else had either water or a soft drink. Jimmy has chicken fried chicken and he said it was very good. He definitely enjoyed every bit of it. Matt had fried fish of some sort which was ok, but nothing special. Elizabeth had a salad with chicken and ate it all, so it must've been good.

My choice was a nice serving of shrimp and grits which included 12 nice sized shrimp. Oh my goodness!!! It was absolutely delicious! I gave each at the table a taste and they all complimented the dish. My son was almost drooling for more and commented that he wished he had ordered it.

At some point my son, Matt, also said it was going on 2pm and that the restaurant was waiting on us to finish so they could close! Guess I should have looked at their hours. They were so nice to us, I want everyone to who wants a good restaurant to try the Fat Spoon on Hwy 190 in Covington!

I have to tell you that I had a lot of my shrimp and grits left (large serving), so I did share with my son. How could I not??? Lol 💕

Been here several times and never came across anything to complain about. The food is great, gumbo is great just wish they served potato salad. I mean come on what's gumbo w/o potato salad. Fried shrimp tastes like it just came off the boat out of the gulf. Grits is as smooth as velvet. The servers are so friendly and helpful and if you walk in and there's a wait, you need to wait cause it's worth it.

Was there for breakfast. Today though the food wasn't so good. The cheese omelette barely had cheese. The meat pie with my wife's food was full of grease. Our kids food looked like they each had maybe half an egg and the ONE slice of bacon is sad. Prices are high for what you get.
When we left to get in our car we noticed kitchen staff smoking behind the place. No problem with that though. One female seemed intoxicated and had trouble standing. Then you had two employees making out in public view of the parking lot.
Definitely not what kids need to be seeing after breakfast.
I saw that the owner or manager made a response to my review. I promise you can't make up what my family and I saw when we were leaving. Maybe you have security cameras that can be reviewed.
After reading negative reviews of Fat Spoon it seems the owner responds in a condescending tone. Customers are allowed to have negative opinions.

Hands down the best cajun breakfast ever! Wait staff is amazing and plenty! Wife had biscuits and gravy to die for and I had a Cajun style omelet. Mine was awesome 👌 as well!

Glad I found this place, it's a hidden gem!! They have the best variety of foods... Our waitress Brittany was a sweetheart. I definitely will be back!!

Took my mom there last week. She has a hard time eating and needs her food to be soft, so this was supposed to be a treat for her. She ordered a cup of coffee and 2 eggs over medium with a side of potatoes, add grilled onions and cheese. Coffee was just warm, not hot. Food arrived and the potatoes were cold, except where they added the grilled onions and cheese on one spot on the top of them. Eggs were cooked over easy, so the yolks were pure liquid, with no firmness at all. She tried to mix it but with the runny eggs and cold potatoes, she couldn't and did not want to eat it. We let the waitress know (who was great by the way), and that we did not want them to remake it, just to bring the bill because this really upset my mom. We were STILL CHARGED for the uneaten food! They did get us a 10% discount, equal to about $2. Will not be back.

This place has great food and impeccable service! I had the NOLA eggs and it was delicious... and it was more food than I could eat. More than that Lynn was our server and she truly made us feel like we were sharing breakfast in her kitchen. She is a special lady. I had not been here before but texted my family to be sure that they know about this place and they are already planning to visit.

The food is very good and I consider it to be one of my favorite breakfast spots, but there is a few things that keep this from being an excellent restaurant. The menu has a lot of variety but there is almost no flexibility. Most of the options are small deviations from each other and substituting items is pretty much out of the question. The atmosphere is kind of a mixed bag because the acoustics at this location make for a very loud experience and you can hear what everyone is saying. All of the negative aside, Fat Spoon is a very good restaurant and I feel like being able to accept a little constructive criticism could lead them to being even better.

Bright smiling faces when you walk through the door. Great variety and choice on breakfast and lunch menu. I heard about this place from a local and I'm partial to the hwy 59 restaurant cuz I live near it.
