Cafe Du Monde Covington

Arrived here at around 615am, at the time the staffed seemed half asleep and pretty much ignored me when I asked where the restroom was.. my partner decided to use the restroom while I browsed the menu. It was my first time here and I didn't even know how to order. When it was my turn to use the restroom I can hear my partner laughing, always the one to start a conversation w strangers. Nonetheless, when I came out I was greeted by Clarice and Beau and they were happy enough to share the history of Chicory coffee a second time. They were very friendly, I just think we needed a sec. The place was clean and were given samples of their frozen iced coffee.

The beignets were delicious!! Paired well with the Chicory coffee!! I wished I lived near by because I would be here every day.

They told us the history and we told them about our road trip with our fur baby. They immediately said you can sit outside and we will put these on plates for you, what a plus that its super dog friendly.

I've been traveling down i10 my entire life and finally had the pleasure of enjoying the famous beignets. They definitely live up to the hype. This location is great, low key with easy access (plenty of parking too), stop in and enjoy a Cafe at lait!

A must stop when passing through Louisiana. The beignets are made fresh to order. The coffee is available either hot or iced. Sodas and milk are also available.

The staff are always very friendly and helpful as well. Cafe Du Monde coffee and souvenirs are also sold to enjoy at your home.

Driving home from Florida for Thanksgiving with family. Thought some beignets and coffee would be a nice break.

Cafe Du Monde's reputation made it a no brainer. We stopped and ordered two orders (6) to eat and six for the road.

Very good, very fresh. We just beat the crowd. It was very busy as we were leaving. I highly recommend for anyone in the area.

A classic. We didn’t know there were other locations outside of NOLA but we were happy to dine here on our road trip day from Gulfport to Dallas. Perfect mocha, excellent black coffee, and three orders of beignets to split between the two of us. Yes, we were hungry. Sat on the dog-friendly covered patio!

Great little restaurant. The food is just like the original location in New Orleans, just without the drama of NO. The beignets were great and the cafe au late was strong and good. The souvenirs were good to find. We were glad to find them while traveling Interstate 12. They seemed to have plenty of employees, unlike many neighboring restaurants.

Donuts were overcooked. Terrible coffee. Needs some background music and employees that don't appear to be forced labor. Just a smile would help.

I’m sad to say I had a poor first time experience here. In looking for beignets on the North Shore, an employee at a nearby state park where we were staying recommended it. Having been to the N.O. one a few times, starting in the 60’s as a child, it sounded great having a Cafe du Monde nearby. I bought a half dozen beignets to go during mid morning on a weekday and took them back to our camper to share with my wife. Unfortunately, half were fresh and half were old to the point of being crunchy. Guess who got the old ones. I might have noticed before arriving home had the bag not been also bizarrely half filled with powdered sugar as well. I’ll go again but next time I’ll make a point to ask for freshly made ones with the usual amount of powdered sugar.

Glad we went because you hear so much about it, but honestly it wasn't anything special. I've had beignet just as good at other restaurants, the service was the bare minimum and the coffee was good, not great. I would absolutely go again to share the experience with a friend who had never been, but I wouldn't seek it out for myself.
