We stopped in quickly to grab beignet mix on our way out of the area and appreciated the clean setting and fast, friendly service. Beignets are not a great to-go item, however, and I'm not sure how fresh ours were before they sat in the bag for a few minutes on our drive. They were certainly heavier than we're used to. But even slightly sub-par beignets are better than no beignets. ☺️

This was our second visit to New Orleans. We were unable to visit Cafe Du Monde on our first visit so it was on the top of our list this time. We located a Cafe Du Monde in Covington which was on our route home. Upon our arrival I noticed the parking lot was empty and wondered if it was closed. It wasn’t. The young man who greeted us was busy frying and told us someone would be with us soon. The women who took our order seemed to be irritated with yet more tourists who had never been to a Cafe Du Monde. She never cracked a smile and that was when my excitement was cut short. I enjoyed the vintage photos and merchandise displayed. I did not like the stickiness of the floors as we squeaked to a table. The table top was also very sticky and I began to wonder if management was okay with that. Our beignets were awesome and every expectation was kicked out of the ballpark! They were fresh and hot and we savored them. I am not a French roast coffee lover especially without cream so I threw my coffee away after a few sips. When I was ordering my beverage I stated I wanted a plain coffee with cream. The unhappy woman asked if I wanted an Americano. I did not want an espresso drink so I replied no I want plain coffee with room for cream. She asked if I wanted French roast. I asked what other roasts do you have? She replied just French and we don’t have cream just whole milk. Ok then this tourist really didn’t have a clue so I ordered a French roast coffee with milk. Yuck! Always remember: there is a reason for empty parking lots. We will not be back

We wanted to stop to Cafe du Monde on our trip without going all the way to New Orleans. We found this little gem and we were really happy about it.
The food was just as good as the shops in New Orleans, the staff was nice, and the place was very clean and quiet.

It was just barely up to standards of French Quarter location. The biengnets seemed a little dense, heavy. Not as airy as I know biengnets to be. The coffee seemed really weak...really weak. I will return for a second time. Hopefully they can redeem themselves. Not saying I disliked the place. Just.....meh.

We planned on going to the Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans but where forced to change our route for to flooding. We were very happy to see this was along our new path.
This is a great location just off the interstate in a small shopping center. Our group ordered beignets expecting the famous fresh pastries everyone has heard of. What we received were cold chewy dough squares that were pulled from a storage box below the prep station.
I wish we braved the flooding on I-10 to try the real thing.

Always hot and fresh beignets. Tonight the dishwasher was broken and so we had to drink out of to go cups but the quality is always great. Hope soon the dishwasher is up and running again for that full experience. I hate Styrofoam cups. Kills the coffee.

The lady running this place needs anger management and the prices were outrageous. 2 things that made me upset
1 the lady running the place gets upset with one of the co-workers right in front of everybody, she should've pulled him aside and talked to him.
2 the prices for the food here was down right awful, I ordered a coffee which tasted like dirt.
I don't know how this business is still running but someone needs to either talk to the woman running this place with customers watching, or take her position away from her. Please do something with that coffee.

My husband asked alot of questions- alot- and the cashier answered every one and said if he ended up not liking the coffee the way it comes they would make it without the warm milk. He loved it! The place was clean and the service fast. I was nervous because we normally go to the New Orleans one.

The tall young man with the glasses was very friendly, courteous, and prompt. The others less so.
The food and coffee were very good and we loved the patio area.

OMG.... I love this place. Staff is super friendly. Coffee is hot and delicious. The beignets are to die for. So much powered sugar it should be a crime. Not as crowed as the French quarter location, but the same quality. Why wait in line for the same thing, will definitely be back to have more. This place is an icon in New Orleans and rightfully so. Always fresh and hot. I can't wait to return, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Hit here first and have time to see the sights of New Orleans instead of waiting in line at the French quarter location. Plus let's face it, you know you are going to eat half a bag on the way down. Order 2 bags. Did I mention a drive thru, you don't even have to get out of the car to have this treat. If I lived here I would be a total fat ass.
