Wasn't my cup of tea. My dad and I went for breakfast. The quality of food we received wasn't as good as what we were expecting for a place with so much hype but maybe that's my fault. Not a very big selection but it is a nice place with very friendly people. I'll be going again to see if it was just an off day

Today my best friend went into Newton’s for some brunch and bottomless mimosas!! Our server was Jennifer and she was absolutely amazing. There was a larger party there and she took our order just before they were sat in order for ours to not take all morning to get. She was so prompt with our drinks and she was SOOOO NICE!!! Definitely a huge recommend for anyone who is from out of town looking for a good brunch or really any meal!!!

We've had breakfast and lunch at Newton's dozens of times, but don't plan to come back. The manager (owner?) was extremely rude. I've heard her trash talk other customers before while sitting at the counter, but today I got to experience her condescending stinginess firsthand. Toast was barely warmed bread served with 1/2 tsp of jelly and the hash browns (ordered "extra crispy") were undercooked. Our server (who was great and empathetic) said "her boss" wouldn't replace anything without an extra charge. When I talked to this "boss" her only concern was "Did you pay yet?" and told us "Ok, don't come back."

She doesn't want my money, and won't get it again. Don't give her yours either. Hit up Cottonwood Canyon, Morg's, Perkins, Village Inn, or even Hy-Vee instead. Miserable people like this have no place working in a service industry.

Wonderful local restaurant! Pro tip: split the iowa pork tenderloin for 2 people!

Such a fun stop. We sat outside with our dogs. The hashbrown bowls are super delicious. Service was great and we'd absolutely go back.

Wonderful diner with a great menu. Lots of interesting twists on old favorites. The "grilled cheese for adults" in particular is delightful.

Gentle, cozy atmosphere with good covid safety measures. Friendly and patient staff even when understaffed - remember to be patient and kind in turn!

I always have an amazing experience at this restaurant! Great food, affordable prices especially for the amount you get. I got the pancakes and they were enormous! The staff was friendly and very tentative. All day breakfast too!

Okay so hoping the food is good ……the staff is very unprofessional. They are arguing over a dollar and 2 dollars in the dinning room. Seems to be more Wait staff then customers and sounds like it’s a hang out not a place to eat. Someone is throwing sliver ware around very noisy.

I’d expect this if the prices were cheaper.
$11 for a burger with no fries is a bit pricey specially for the level of professionalism going on at the moment. 8 staff members standing behind counter talking about personal things and being rather loud.

Also some of the staff seem to be tweaking
Another wait staff is talking to her table from in front of ours. She is not our waitress.
Waiting on food will add as we eat lol……..

I ordered a burger my wife ordered breakfast
5 minutes later another man came in ordered a burger……both of us ordered medium he got his order before ours came

So food came. With no napkins or sliver ware
And burger was missing the bacon. Wife’s
Sandwhich missing cheese. Manager come over. Very rudely and explains if I want a better dinning experience I said go to a fine dinning place.

So high prices rude staff and food. Is good when right Burger did have. A good taste

But won’t be a place I come back to.

To put our visit in context we came in on a Tuesday morning after the morning rush. Lots of staff running around looked to be in "cleaning mode" in preparation of upcoming events. Half of the seating was blocked off but the availability of outside patio seating was a welcomed inclusion.

The menu was short and without a-le-cart options made hitting everyone's needs difficult. We weren't offered a "kids menu" until we tried to order a single pancake for my son.

The food wasn't bad by any means and I rather enjoyed the homemade breakfast sausage patties with my "Iowa Toast".

Long story short it wasn't bad bit with a lot of options in the area it may not be my first choice.

This cafe was such a fun surprise. I felt like I was remaking an old movie. Enjoyed a beautiful creamy hot chocolate with tons of sweet cream and chocolate. Newtons is a very fantastic cafe. Don't miss it and I will be back with my husband. Also so nostalgic. It began in 1870 as a jewelry store!!!!! Fun fun fun!!!
