Visited on a weekend and many people waiting to enter, should be a sign of a good restaurant or the only one within miles. Clean place, attentive service, food tasty what their was of it. Compared to other breakfast places we visit we got the impression they were rationing the portions to last the day. Again, based on other breakfast restaurants, this is not one that I can recommend visiting again.

Table on one side of us order the same time came out surprisingly fast. The table on the other side was seated 5-7 minutes after us got their meals had to ask where are meals were. Told it was coming. Meals arrive cold 🥶 we were on our way to the airport so we couldn't wait for them to redo them ,they didn't even offer to redo them ☹️

You can't beat this classic cafe with delicious breakfast food. The servers are always nice. We have not had a bad meal here once. Highly recommended for breakfast.

I love this North Liberty location of Bluebird. If you go for brunch on the weekend, expect a bit of a wait but be patient! It's worth your time. As always, their coffee is excellent and you usually get a cup to go when you're finished. Everything I've had there to eat is very tasty but I have a soft spot for their house made sourdough. As toast or used for a sandwich, that bread is perfect. Staff there is pleasant and create a wonderful atmosphere for a meal out.

The fish in the fish and chips was meh. They advertise gluten free options but in reality they have only one, pancakes. The pancakes are good but that's all they offer just so you're aware.

The waiter dealt with the last minute extra people who joined us without batting an eye. They also dealt with the baby we have by making sure we got extra 'toys' aka napkins, straws, spoons, the menu.

We visit here regularly. My favorite is the Popeye omelet and the cinnamon roll pancakes. This is definitely not your “typical” diner, the food a step above most places. Will be returning, as this is mainstay when we are looking for a nice morning, afternoon or evening meal out.
