I have been to this spot twice now, with the first time getting coffee cake and a cold brew, then the second time getting a monster cookie and a pour over dark roast coffee.
My first time being there, they mentioned that the coffee cake was fresh and still warm, which it was when I got a slice of it. The slice was HUGE, but delicious. The cold brew I got was out of the tap they have behind the counter (both cold brew and nitro brew is offered), and it needed no creamer or sugar, as it was a very smooth brew.
The second time being there just this morning, I got the monster cookie and the pour over dark roast. The pour over was made to perfection, offering the boldness yet smooth taste that I could drink just black. They offered to warm up my cookie, to which I replied "yes, please" and warm it was. Overall with both experiences I have had a nice time there.
One thing I wish and seeing on reviews is that there is no WiFi, and it is a definite cell phone dead zone. I don't mind that there isn't WiFi or service, but at least have a sign up on the intention of not offering WiFi so customers aren't taken by surprise. Other than that, it is a solid spot for good coffee and baked goods.

This place is amazing! Coffee shop and book store in a large beautiful space with great staff. Prices are fine. They brew intelligentsia coffee and sell some delicious pastries from a local bakery. The ambiance is excellent for reading or working on the computer, however, it's kid friendly so it may get crowded at times. There are some tables outside. Definitely my favorite coffee shop in town.

Good book selection and super nice staff every time I go. Couldn’t recommend this place enough:)

This is a great coffee shop if you have kids and want to take them. They have great coffee but no wifi so it isn't a place to post up and get work done. There's lots of metal accents and design features so it can get kind of loud, especially with kids.

Sidekick is so inviting and charming! It has a great book selection for children, young adults and adults. It is the perfect place to to cozy up with a cup of Intelligentsia (from Chicago) coffee and a book, catch up with friends or to take the kids for some exploring and reading. They also serve local ice cream and pastries. It's our family's go-to coffee shop!

The coffee was really good, I love Intelligentsia and it's great to find it in a local coffee shop. The shop is very cute and clean, though unexpectedly seemed to be strongly aimed at children in the books offered. The main draw back is the lack of WiFi. I don't usually like to say I expect a courtesy/free thing from a business, but at this point free WiFi is pretty inherent to coffee shops. My friends and I came in to study and work on stuff, but ended up leaving after trying the coffee because we couldn't use our laptops. I would recommend them for coffee, but be aware of the lack of WiFi if you're planning on doing work here. I will probably only rarely return here as it just isn't as convenient as many other wonderful coffee shops in the area, which have good coffee, atmosphere, AND WiFi.

Love the coffee, loose leaf and incredible pastries. They are handling the coronavirus with great ease and protecting all customers. When no virus, there is no WiFi which makes it perfect for no distraction conversation, playing with children at one of their reading times or in the play corner, or reading and purchasing one of their great books for sale.

I really like the idea of this place--being able to read a variety of book selections is a cool idea. It's not really a feasible place to study or get stuff done, however. As of this review, there isn't public Wi-Fi available which seems a bit odd for a coffee shop. There also seems to be a lack of outlets in the surrounding area which also makes it kind of inconvenient to work with laptops or other devices. Otherwise, there seems to be a wide variety of books to read (mostly kids and young adult novels), spacious places to sit, and a variety of options on the menu. This place isn't a bad place to go, but for some people it may not be the best place for studying but rather a place to relax and enjoy a snack and a book.

Spacious coffee shop with great coffee options and delicious snacks! I'm from out of town and came here with a friend who's local. The coffee shop is really spacious which is great if you come with your family or a group. There are couches you can read and hang out.
There's no wifi and that's intentional. I actually like this! It's nice to be in a coffee shop and see people having a conversation and not all trying to avoid interacting with another human. I used to live in NYC and it was quite common for coffee shops to not have wifi. Honestly, if you want to have wifi, then get a data plan that allows tethering, or go to another coffee shop!
I had the chocolate biscotti and a latte, both delicious! Although I was tempted by the quiche which looked equally delicious. They are happy to warm up items as well, which adds to the charm of the place!
The walls are lined with books available for purchase, but also great for browsing if you have kids. Also, there are cute cubbies towards the front which kids can curl up in and read. Highly recommend this local gem!

Their lattes taste bland. They don't seem to know what they're doing. And, most everyone there is some apathetic, cynical college student. There are far better coffee places down the street, like Bread Garden, Highground, Starbucks.
