Zanzibar's Coffee Adventure

Not a chain! A great spot to get together with another. A very welcoming and calm atmosphere as opposed to many others with a lot of background noise from equipment as well as music.

Big fan of Zanzibar overall.

Things I don't like:
- Styrofoam cups
- no wifi (I'd love to do work here sometimes, but can't because of this)

Things I like!:
- wide variety of tea options (hot or iced)
- atmosphere
- food menu

Linda is a terrific barista. Attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The Coffee is the best in the city, maybe even the country. Never can find coffee this good anywhere else.

I have come to this cafe for a very long time. It is one of the few places where I can smell and taste the coffee. The staff is great and the atmosphere is beyond compare.

Zanzibar’s is a Des Moines staple! They roast all their own beans. It’s a very cozy down to earth spot. They also feature a local Artist every month.

This is the kind of coffee shop that ruins me on other coffee shops. Flawless service, beautifully made drinks, great ingredients. Liked it so much we went twice in 24 hours!

Heckuva good coffee shop. Heck, order a coffee. Order a heckin' snack. Soon enough, the quality will become apparent as the ingredients course through your veins like bumblebees through a plumply blossomed flower.

The only complaint that I have about this place is that the quality of the prepared drinks is really hit or miss. This is likely due to the high turnover rate of the staff. Still, if you are after straight coffee or beans, this place is the best.

Best Mecican chocolate coffee drink! ...it is a wee bit noisy in there however - tables are close so sometimes hard to concentrate on your convo w others conversing close by.

Capaccino - really good classic capaccino - as tasty as a cafe in Vienna. This place has been added to our short list of places to stop for excellent coffee.
